Player counts

Tonight (Sunday) saw the highest concurrent player count I can find on record for at least the last two years. Higher than the iPad launch, and I think higher than the paid Penny Arcade promo.

And this is just organic. There are no promos or marketing or advertising things going on that I'm aware of. We were mentioned briefly in one little article a week or two back, but I highly doubt that caused anything. This has just been building, week-by-week, for six months. The graph is kind of crazy, actually.

It is vastly, vastly Android-biased. Probably 80%. But the numbers from the other platforms wouldn't be a bad weekend on their own. Just that Android then adds a hilarious number on top of them.

We haven't even been promoted on the Play Store yet.

iPhone is going to be interesting.

Steam? Jesus.

(In other news, I fly out to Vegas in a few hours for CES. Not really my favorite show [and I'm still sick, and it's a pain in the ass after all the holiday crap], but some good meetings, so hopefully it'll be useful. So if I don't respond on the forums for a bit, that's probably related).

Good news and congrats.

Can you give any insight into differences between android and PC players, especially in terms of retention and actual multiplayer participation (e.g. PvP and group missions)?

Jesus has nothing to do with Steam Inc. Surprised you still haven't relesased that part yet.

Jesus might have been rumered to have been at Apple, but Steve left the building. ;)

Now robustify your crystal offerings so players pay money to:

-serve as guild officers
-further increase licenses
-whatever else is currently limited

Mobile players aren't going to pay 10/month. You need to capitalize on the traffic you have with ways to monetize it and not make mobile players feel like second class citizens.
