I trust by Fixed a couple of lua errors, that what is meant is that the chat bug is fixed?
Lua errors are things that actually cause a prominent Lua.. error. I don't know if the chat-focus thing was fixed or not. I did elevate the priority on it.
Chat focus isn't fixed yet. :(
Is the glow effect supposed to have pronounced horizontal and vertical "smears?"

Yeah, it's always had that. Part of how it works. The "high resolution" glow effect diminishes that artifact, but I'm not sure if Ray enabled that option on OpenGL or not.
Yeah, I turned it on "High Quality" and it's still pretty smeary.
The nitpicker strikes again!!!!
Yes, we know what it looks like. It's been in the Windows version for very long time. There are artifact tradeoffs to every graphical technique. If you don't like it, you can disable it?
Well I was just trying it out since I never used it and the patch notes mentioned it. I expected it to look like the bloom effect some other games have. As long as that's how it's supposed to look...
Good news is this patch seems to have cured this problem at least for my PC.

Yeah, it is not exactly the traditional bloom effect, which is often applied to everything. Honestly, I think bloom is pretty ugly in a lot of cases, as the previous link demonstrates. Ours is tweaked to be a bit more selective, but is resolution-limited by the current glow texture (it was added a long time ago. 2004? I believe it's a modified form of this effect). Also, here's a previous discussion on Suggestions.
We'll probably replace it with another effect at some point (using a more modern technique, specific to more recent hardware), in the DX11/GL4 renderer. Right now Ray is just trying to synchronize our rendering techniques.
Good to hear your GPU is no longer stalling out randomly, although I'm not sure what we did that would have fixed that, exactly.

Cool patch.
Call it lens glare!
