Greenwall, the RP forums are over there.

Ok, to be fair 'oRe does occasionally expose his trident to NPCs. I should have clarified that he won't bring his trident to battle against actual players. This is not RP -- this is fact.

Many players don't bring their tridents to battle. I'm sure they're feeling neglected. You should acknowledge all those players instead of harping on one.

I too experienced this boredom.

Although I do enjoy PVP in spite of not being very good at it, I did get bored with looking for PVP when there wasn't anything going on.
I flew around looking for a fight more then actually fighting.

I enjoy most of what the game offers and Deneb mostly.
Deneb with PVP is certainly more fun, but even that was limited to mostly NPC's

However, I must say when I first played VO most of the vid footage was about big battles and what you see in Deneb. I was under the impression that this was all Players in big ships and fighters. Battles that required some tactical coordination for battles or something. Not really what I thought from watching the vids.

I did not consider building things and hauling freight even though it's mentioned I was more attracted to the Vendetta and the background story. Not what I expected at all but still fun.

I think when I started playing and learning to fly I sort of assumed the game would turn into my original assumption that I saw in the vids and I sort of forget what I was looking for.

Now looking back I realized it was not really what I was looking for. I was actually looking for the game I saw in the vids. And although it's the same thing but the perception that the vids gave me was totally different then what I found in the game.

Still fun but I also became bored.

I have a short attention span and am easily distracted. I also have a burning urge to assert myself as a special and unique snowflake, which translates to doing dumb shit other people wouldn't do. Fortunately for me, VO is a great place to go off the beaten path and just fuck around. You just need to put a little bit of imagination into your approach.

If anyone is looking for some inspiration, here are some fun things I've done or attempted:

Develop a character to combat level 4. As quickly as possible. I think my record is ~65 minutes. I'm sure I've never gotten in under one hour. Let me know if you have! We can swap tips!

Develop a character hated by all possible factions. If you go for the extra challenge of losing all of your standing through PKs only, Aeolus will quickly become your least favorite faction.

Develop a character while doing as few missions as possible. Currently my favorite way to play. It's a whole new set of challenges with a whole new set of decisions to make and I am loving it. Everyone should try it.

I really don't have much to say but here's some stuff I've done/attempted (sorry for taking some words):

1 Million in the Shortest time: My record was 37 minutes (not really sure if 1 hour), it was fun (especially when pirating to get 1mil)

System Running (if you have a char that is UIT, you can do this): Flying through all the systems in the shortest time possible (30 mins my rec)

Sector Traveling (slightly dangerous): flying through all 256 sectors in Dau and Verasi (did this when I forgot where the queen was)

pup tracking: tracking down "pup" by following the Strike Force

Estrian Escape: pissing off Estrian Prosis and trying to avoid her

/explode: something you can do on your own risk

Note: not all of them are safe (especially Estrian Escape)

This is what I have been doing:

Achieved Pillar Of Society in 8 Factions (soon to be 9) mostly by running procurement missions. Still haven't decided whether to get POS with Valent or Axia, unfortunately I have to choose which one to please. Orion was the worse faction to get POS. It has already reaped much reward in protection from faction minded Pirates. This also raised my Trade License to an unbelievable level considering I neglected that aspect of my character. Trade is now my highest license (WOW).

Mapped the trade trends of my home faction. Now I can make 1 million creds in less than 30 minutes (most days). It took some time figuring out the trade system.

One of my new favorite things to do when I'm bored is to mercilessly shoot damaged Noobs with Aeolus Light Repair Modules mounted in an Axia Marauder. I'll probably be mentoring soon.

How exactly does someone mercilessly repair newbies?
May 19, 2015 Phaserlight link
With extreme prejudice, I imagine.

Most Noobs have never seen a Marauder, don't know about repair modules and when a strange ship comes at them guns a blazing they wet themselves then run. When they finally realize they are at 100% they usually stop running. Sometimes its hilarious what they do. I've been rammed, shot, cussed out and one jumped into an Aputech-5 only sector trying to lose me. LOL. I had to repair him a lot after he jumped back out of there. One fella even paid me but I gave it back.

Random Acts of Violent Kindness. Only in VO!

I'm gonna try that Repair Damaged Noobs thing.

Although what's really fun is killing a queen by ramming into her.... (Died 16x in a row)
