Nation War is continueing to return to the size it used to be at! This week we had 22 participants, engaging each other in intense battles, looking to set their enemies ship on fire.
Anyhow, in the end the Itani showed to have a better strategy, overwhelming the remaining erco fighters.
Congratulations to the Itani team for winning Nation War #395!
(NW was a Little delayed this time cause an over-eager Pilot had mined the sector before the starting signal was given; however this reminded me to set very exact rules, so thanks to this helpful individual , a new rule has been added: No pre-mining the sector! ;) )

No "pre-mining" the sector, meaning to lay mines before the start Signal was given. [NEW]
Potential fighters MUST be on time in order to participate.
Most ships and all weapons are allowed.
If two or more teams can promise tridents, they will be permitted.
If you wish to spectate, you most observe in an unarmed EC-class ship.
Wait for the host to finish countdown before you start shooting.
The last team that stands wins.
Good fights all along, see you all next week!

WOOT. Gfs.
Holy hell! Nice job Itani :D
Nice turnout this time. :)
I really think the minimum 2 teams for Tridents rule needs to go away. It drives capital ships away from this event because once one team knows their enemy has one, they can force them to leave it at home just by not bringing theirs.

Nation war would be MUCH more fun if there were tridents on every team... but nobody else is willing to bring them.
Until every team brings one, it really isn't fair to allow them, as much as I *really* hate to say it.
The problem is bringing tridents requires preparation... and NW attendance has always been more of a last-minute thing. The preparation issue, combined with the bizarre fear that most trident pilots have of losing their ship (*coughs* SERCO), keeps them from showing up in my opinion.

My argument here is that allowing any team to veto another team's Trident by not bringing one isn't going to do anything to help make NW better. It allows a stronger team to disadvantage a much weaker team who might have brought a capital ship otherwise.
If there wasn't a requirement for two teams to bring one. It makes it in their best interest to bring one so that their team isn't left disadvantaged by *not* bringing one.
There's plenty of Tridents across all 3 of the major nations. The only side this hurts is "grey" which isn't really a nation as much as a cop-out so who cares.
Also: It gives newbies something fun to do that doesn't involve dying two seconds after the event starts: be a gunner.

NW has always been a simple PvP event which was quick but enjoyable. However, a Trident is a huge advantage.
I would immediately change the rules if you were a 100% right ARF, but that is not the case, since we must also take VOs playerbase into consideration. Sometimes, there are not enough Trident pilots online, or their Tridents are parked far away or they currently have something important loaded and cannot bring them to NW at that time. VO is not yet flooded with players and it is not either with Tridents. I do definitely see a rule change in the direction you pointed to in the future, but not now.
Anyhow, PA has offered a nice Bonus to Trident Captains in NW #396 (see my thread). That might encourage Captains to log on at that time and be prepared to bring one.

If VO were flooded with players, Tridents would be insufficient. You can barely dock 4 ships on one these days.
This should be fun. :)
