Beware the TGFT Utilities Plugin

Wow, we can really tell who the nitwitted TGFT loyalists are. Getting them to come out of the closet is another positive effect of the noisemaking.

The few newbs who are turned away from the public noisemaking is a small price to pay for the multitudes of newbs who would be deceived down the road if nobody said anything about it. It's on you TGFT, for publicly releasing such a plugin and being deceptive about what it does. If you didn't, this wouldn't have happened.

And who are you to tell me to "shut the hell up" Sieger?

You don't have the right or moral credibility to demand anything from me.
You are just a silly badges addict with illusions of grandeur and think you are someone important who can order people what to do or not.
Guess what - you are a nobody, just a char name on the internet forum like everyone else here.

I don't have any authority nor will to talk to Lisa. It's Incarnates job to make the best decision for his game and company and advise plug-in developers on the proper action and formulation of disclaimers that need to be added in order for GS to be exonerated from any responsibility of possible player-base malcontent with the false advertising and misuse of those plug-ins.

Incarnate asked nicely all of us (and specifically me) to refrain from mentioning IP & spyware in the in-game chat and I am going to honor his polite request.
I respect devs for their hard work and I know what struggle they went thru to survive and all this could have been avoided if your group of immoral chums stopped peddling that honey pot to everyone - that was the easy and quick solution. However your petty unethical interests did not even allow you to think of THIS simple solution and you now accuse everyone else of causing trouble to GS and Incarnate?

Hypocrites, all of you.

What part of the word EVERYONE did you not understand?

yup and this is where you shoulda stopped bojan. you made a good progress there getting everyone to ohh and ahhh when you and kierky revealed the big bad TGFT plugin.
replying again was the worst thing you could have done from a psychological aspect. it would have been more majestic to be silent after what your growing opposition said.

Hypocrites, all of you.

"You fools! I am going to be back one day and then I will rule the world. You have made a big mistake making fun of me. I WILL RULE THE WORLD! YOU WILL REMEMBER MY NAME etc. etc."

yup. you kinda sound like the dude in the the movie who got his ass kicked and then throws empty threats.

close. please. save my eyes.

This could be solved by disabling all network abilities in the game client.
I've added the nicely written disclaimer from Savet. Posted the update on voupr.com

Since the disclaimer was added, I'll stand by my word and not release the info.

I'm not in favour of removing network capabilities, for they can be very useful in certain situations, however you must make your plugin TRANSPARENT to the users, you can't just go around giving out your plugin under the false pretense of it being "helpful" then not disclosing the fact that it has surreptitious functions in the plugin (especially for those not very lua-literate).

"Instead, you made a useless forum thread"

Sieger, I disagree with your claim that this thread was useless. There was a popular plugin that was performing potentially undesirable functions that apparently a good number of people were unaware of. The thread brought attention to that plugin and ultimately got a disclaimer voluntarily added to the plugin's distribution page. That is a useful result, therefor by definition the thread was not useless.

"Please dial down the hyperbole, especially the use of the term "SPYWARE" in game chat. We are now receiving negative reviews from confused mobile players who (from reading chat) believe our game may include spyware that will potentially reveal their critical billing information.

THIS IS NOT SPYWARE. This is a sandboxed script-doohicky in an MMO-client, that distributes some additional game-specific information (that you willingly make available by running it).
"

By the fucking balls of Thor, you lot get your panties so bunched up in your cunts.

Go fill out a complaint form or something.

That'd be true if it were a nice thing, but it's not.
