My desktop background rotates every day. But here is the flavor of the day.

Transformers.
In case you're wondering, I'm using the "Milk" theme on the file manager bar and on iChat. It's with a program called "shapeshifter." Cool stuff.

Finch, your link is a 404...

Macs are nice, but the hardware has stunk until just recently... And it's still too expensive... I want my OS X running on the x86, dammit! -.-

Sheean: Does kwin have shadows built-in, or is that a patch of some kind? I just ask because I tend more towards gnome and fvwm derivatives than kde and kwin..

Yeah, that's a patch; you should take a look at http://www.kde-look.org loads of stuff there.

What's the rice bowl? And what's the thing that was next to it with the squiggly arrow?
May 18, 2004 Katarn link
Those are where I hide my multimedia kinda files. The squiggly arrow one actually serves no purpose to me, it's just a folder that goes somewhere...

Hmm, must be some way I could get a screensaver on the background AND don't screw up the window shadows AND don't disable 3D rendering, agh hell.

/me waits for the "buy a Mac" remarks
May 27, 2004 MonkRX link
Buy a Mac.

(yes a bump)
May 27, 2004 roguelazer link
Sheean, do it on Linux. Setup glMatrix in rootwindow mode and use xserver for the rendering to get nice purty window shadows. Of course, xserver has no hardware acceleration because nvidia and ati are boneheads, so it'll be a slow glMatrix...

Roguelazer: "AND don't disable 3D rendering" :P

hmm..

Can't wait for hardware support for xserver :) (and/or looking-glass without a sucky theme)
