Yeah. Well it's probably because I run Compiz and the gpu client gets most of the gpu's processing power. You're using Gentoo as well right?
Jan 26, 2009 momerath42 link
Yep, Gentoo, and I have no use for compiz, so I'll probably give it a try. F@H's site says it's supposed to back off in the presence of a directx app in windows- maybe that part isn't working in linux. Wish they'd come out with a native version already.

Momerath: Either your pc isn't folding anymore, or your FAH client is *hung* as well. I just launched it manually from /opt/foldingathome by this command: ./fah6 -smp

I guess there's some kind of problem that was affecting my folding as well. Maybe a Gentoo problem.

Hmm, just downloaded the client. But where is the super-magical display and screensaver? I can't see them at all.

Running Mac OS X 10.5.6

Edit: Mnammm mnammm mnammmm.... Proteins :)

I can get Fahmon to monitor my progress, and my project, but I can't get the visual display up! :(

Still not sure where the 7 or so slow assed machines that I have folding away are, and they must be running a _very_ old client, but meh, free points are still points right?

Just added my second GPU to the race though, Crossfire is giving me 0 benefit in any games I play, so F@H may as well have the second GPU right? Only problem I have is with Fraps, it sometimes gets confused about what I'm trying to record, and I get a blurry green mess instead of a video :D

[edit]

Worked out the Fraps problem, it was actually my fault, should only dedicate 1 CPU/Core to GPU2-F@H, and give another CPU/Core to Fraps.

Ok, got 1 dual core iMac, 1 Quad-core Xeon iMac and an old eMac running F@H. :)

You have been added to my F@H KOS Sheet Faustino Bashkir! Which does not actually mean much, errrm, but yah.

Oh and Hoax, I think you need to bring some more CPU power to the table, just my GPU is producing around 2000 points a day! :D

[edit]

Watch that average per day climb :P

[edit 2]

And to make sure the newby Super Secret Newb has no chance, I threw a random Core2Duo T8100 with 2GB into the folding home :)

Nooo, just you wait! Soon every computer I touch will be eating tasty proteins!

If you are going to go that route, then so will I! Expect my CPU count to shoot up, soon(tm) :P

Gratz on getting first place Av! Did you get a PS3 just to fold on? :P

Thanks! :-)

Not really, but it's always on 'Life With Playstation (Folding@Home)' When I'm not playing games/watching TV shows.

#1, here I come!

I'm sure I will be number 2 before you are number 1, your current overtake for me is predicted at 1.6 years, good luck with that.

That sounds like a challenge my good sir! *adds in playstation3* The game is on! lol

I'm gunna hold off on folding on my main computer, because if I understand my recent results, FAH is evil. Oh yah, and that was the weakest attack I have ever seen.

You guys are WEAK. I just started folding again, and already I've doubled your daily production.

Just downloaded it,
MacBook 1.83GHz Intel Core 2, keeps crashing when I try to view the protein window. And doesn't seem to be using any CPU.
