KB/Mouse not working.

Jun 20, 2014 mitchness link
There is an old thread that I didn't want to resurrect on this and it seemed to have no resolutions.

The game boots fine. I can use the keyboard to type in the password and even click connect manually with the mouse. The second it gives me control of the ship, both mouse and keyboard quit responding.

It doesn't work in windowed mode either.

Fedora and whatever default AMD driver it told me to use. This was just working the other day.

Update: It goes farther with a new character. There is zero mouse control, but I can use the WASD area and fire with the mouse. Chat also works. Esc does not bring up the options menu. Targeting with mouse wheel works. Turning does not. Once docked, it is as if nothing is wrong.

Before logging in check the controls? Tab in options. Whatever the name it's the second tab and check the setting.

Somehow all the keyboard controls were deleted completely. I reset them to default and had "Keyboard/Mouse" box checked and still got nothing. Resetting the controls to default is what gave me a crude response with only some of them working properly. I'll also try removing the plugins folder and if that works, do a trial and error to eliminate the problem one.

Sorry for the double post, but this is a positive update.

I installed the game again. I'm not sure what caused all of this and it may need checked into, but everything seems alright for now. I even reset a couple of keyboard keys and all is well. Something was corrupted somewhere in the game. It may have been a settings file somewhere? I know it isn't any plugin because all of those were just moved back in the state they were removed from on the last install and all of those work perfectly (minus the need to move one character's targetless list back to the other's). A complete reinstall is acting like nothing ever happened.

I don't know how to repeat this *bug* (if it is one). I didn't do anything out of the ordinary except use a wireless mouse while on vacation then switched back to the wired one when I came home, which still worked fine until I logged to go to the store then came back to pulling my hair out. :O

Glad to hear that you got it sorted. Of course what really did the trick was the hair pulling. :-) That usually works as well as try sticking the tip of your tounge to one if the corners of your lips. That is what usually works for me. :-) have fun and good luck.

That's wacky. I've never had anything like that happen on the PC platforms.

If it does it again, you could try removing the config.ini and wgaf.cfg files instead of doing a complete reinstall of the game.
