It's been taking 20+ seconds to load up sleeping sectors since you guys made the cloud changes a few weeks ago. What gives?

I thought the cloud stuff was just for the updater? But yeah, jumping into a sector can take ages sometimes, and they usually so fast I've no time to read the hints.

20 seconds is completely crazy.
When it happens for you again, create a support ticket with the time and sector that took so long to load so I can examine the log files.

Ray it happens constantly for a lot of players. I can name 10 players, including me, that have 20+ sec loading times on sleeping sectors.

And if you could do what he asked, we'll be able to solve the problem much more quickly.

But even when you fly around on anonymous characters, you fly in God-mode and are immune to damage and realistic game behavior.

You need to test the way real people play: with warranties.

Um. This thread is about sector load times. I can certainly notice an obnoxiously long sector load time. The example stated was 20 seconds? I'd be hard pressed to not notice that.

And no, I often don't fly in god-mode.

I know you need examples, and I don't have a good one to give, except that I have also seen this issue as I have chased people across sectors. Eventually you'll hit one that takes a while to load.

It might be difficult for GS to diagnose given how close they are to the server, may be lag and packetloss related perhaps.

Ok, we fixed a slow database query that was probably causing the long sector load times if you change sectors at the 5 minute times of the hour.
So please report any very slow sector start times again.
