It would be interesting to have a Voice Bar. That is, to enable voice chat for everyone inside a station.

I also really like the Voice Hail idea.

After having voice chat avaliable for several months I find that I don't use it much because it is a source of unwanted explatives - and this is from pilots with whom I choose to group. The volume of explatives coming thru a system, sector, or targeted enemy pilot chat are too great to contemplate. So, I think that until there is a AI voice chat filter, new chat channels are a low priority.

You don't ask for much, eh? Let me perhaps put my response as a computer scientist and a person with a brain into two words "Not likely".

I would like to be able to have all the people participating in Nation War be able to use Voice Chat. I don't know if the current situation is a bug or what, but today, with around 75 people total in-game, many of us were unable to use it at all. As that is probably the event where it's most useful, aside from Border actions, this strikes me as unfortunate. Obsidian made a statement about how the server only allows 100 connections, but with only 75 people online, there can't have been that many connections. So everyone in a NW being able to use VC would be a wonderful feature!

Chat at the personal ,group and guild levels would be fine but beyond this the channels would become useless noise in my opinion.

IF possible voice chat chould be tied in to an ai speech synthesizer and npcs could be allowed to speak... ie annouce attacks and say hello. Each station should also have a arrival and departure message as well.....

Heh, like this idea, would be sorta like ghosts unofficial trailer with the enemies talking to each other lol.

I want to see voice chat work for everyone in a group, regardless of whether they have it enabled or not. As it is, it seems like nobody in a group can hear me, unless I first tell them to enable voice chat in their client and then rejoin the group.

aka, broadcasting should be toggleable, but receiving should be automatic by default.

I have not used the voice chat but probably will very soon as a sort of newbie user currently enjoying this game.

I like the idea some have expressed about voice hails.

But yes this could create a nuisance atmosphere but (text to voice could be more easily filtered)

You can setup preprogrammed responses sometimes and press your programmed key for that
And select various voices similar to festival or some other text to speech etc.
Not perfect but still interesting.

Text to voice could potentially be done with a plugin and an outside program like festival.

Guild voice chat works fine. Perhaps an indicator similar to the one that happens in the group box somewhere on screen with the speakers name by it would be useful.

I think the idea of having the chat working in the bars on station would be excellent. Better would be avatar movement in stations ....... oh wait this not eve :)
