Then stop focusing on the controversial, and let us talk about the non-controversial.

I do not wish to have to spend real money in order to compete, but I do not mind competing with people that spend money to compete, as long as I can compete, either way.

Paying real money to gain levels, credits, standing, and even equipment is not really a threat to base subscription players, as long as base player can obtain those same things by effort alone. Further, none of those things adequately compensates for skill, experience, or game specific insight. If a noob paid $50 to be driving a valk in his first hour, he would still be a noob, and still toast in his first encounter, and the devs $50 richer. $50 here, $50 there, and sooner or later we are talking about hiring another dev.

I am not interested in talking about what you object to. I am interested in talking about what you will not object to.

The devs have ported to the mobile platform. They are already overdue to properly cash in on micro-transactions. Get some ideas on the table for the devs to work with. Stop objecting, and start suggesting.

Show me what you got.

Yeah, I could care less whether normally available toys can be had through a microtxn as well as by ingame mechanics. And that's true whether we're talking about Lite subs buying Neut Mk Is or Full subs buying X1s at 1/1/1/0/0 or whatever. The real problem is when you can trade $ for something not normally available in game through a full subscription and play time. And that may not be just a new ship or a weapon; it could be access without faction requirements or access at places that normally don't have access.

So your "non-controversial" idea still opens a whole new can of worms regarding non-level based limits on access to ships/weapons/equipment. If I pay $50 for a X1, do I get one? 100? As many as I have credits for? Do I need Itani standing and missions completed to get it, only dodging the level requirements? Can I stroll into Corvus and buy one there or can I only get them at Itani research stations? Getting it to the point where it's worth $X but not game breaking (KOS Itani can buy X1s at Corvus) may or may not be worth the Dev time.

Yes Lecter, you should be able buy one valk for $50. If you get killed, you can buy another one for $50, and so on. That makes a lot of sense and I'm sure a lot of people would spend their money on that.

OK. now we are negotiating.

Will we agree on?:

There should be some things that can only be acquired by USD, but those things should be purely cosmetic. There should be nothing that can be purchased with USD, that has functional value, that a subbed vet can not acquire without USD.

Purchasable functional items, should have a USD to "in game effort" conversion rate such that some (minority?) segment of vets will consider purchasing it, while other vets will prefer to gain those items by in game effort.

How much should the devs charge for a cap ship? I understand that building a cap ship is a monumental undertaking. $100? $1000? How many player hours in game effort does it take, and what conversion rate should be used? minimum wage? half minimum wage?

There is potentially thousands of dollars on the line for the devs, and those thousands could be used by the devs to make a better game. I hate players having cap ships, but will tolerated players paying USD for a cap, if it makes the game significantly better.

I'm all for ppl purchasing a X1 as long as it launches without a engine.

If this game goes to micro transactions, I'll bet alot of ppl would just not bother resubscribing.
Fucking "I WANT IT NOW" generation. Lvl up like everyone else.. oh ya, that's right .. Light subscribers can only get to lvl 3's.

So what makes you think that some cheap ass that won't spend $10 on a monthly sub will spend $x amount for a X1 or anything else? This has fail written all over it.

You want to talk micro-tans? Let's talk skins.

Camo patterns, alternate cc stripes, guild skins, faction skins, even UI skins. Those are guaranteed to sell, and they don't open the can of worms that selling weapons or ships or licenses would.

That's what I would accept.
