UIT Consulates

In order to help balance out some of the UIT subfaction issues,

There should be a single UIT Consulate station in Serco and Itani space.
(Initros and Jallick seem to be good candidates)
Officially it would be for UIT ambassadorial functions...

It would help people to be able to bot up their standings
....and allow the rats to exploit the serco and Itani areas

+1, or are least a few exploratory sub factions. It would also help newbies not get slaughter in grey with no faction rep in the nfz.

+1 with care. It could offset some balance in the blue v.s. red war combat thingy but no one does that anyway.

Someone can increase UIT standing with less risk this way.

It would be a station sector with hive bots?

It would be a small UIT station for the Embassy.
They may need a few bots but I doubt any would be hive....

Unless the station was a destination for convoys or had Procurement missions increasing UIT standing would be rather hard.

Supplies I think would be rather limited.

Why not broaden the range of missions and activities that improve standings instead of making more places where players can partake in the same old boring-ass grind?

I like the idea but with two reservations/suggestions:

Reservation: A newish player travels to one of the embassy stations and homes there. Then before homing somewhere else manages to tank their Itani/Serco standing. They don't have the skill and/or licenses/equipment to make a run past the border turrets and die trying and effectively get bound into a sector that they cannot realistically escape.

Suggestion: If UIT has embassies in Itani and Serco space then shouldn't Itan and Serco also have embacies in UIT space? Alternatively the Itan and Serco stations could be the monitoring outposts I suggested in http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/3/27801

Not a bad idea for those who have accidentally fallen into bad standing.

We already have Corvus buy-back, UIT-terminus escorts, and in-UIT-system botting for this. -1.

OMG! PaK had a good idea.

Excuse me i'm off to buy a lottery ticket.

Having UIT bases in Serco/Itani space would be fantastic. Screw the botting thing - imagine the conflict as Serco/Itani military forces have a station to fight from within itani/serco space. It's a good idea for that alone.

Homing for non-UIT might be a problem....It is an embassy after all. Homing may not be permitted for anyone. Its an issue that would need to be looked over very carefully.

An Itani and Serco Embassy in UIT space should also be explored - Verasi for Itani but Arta is a Capitol so an embassy there would be a non- starter. As it stands there are a few sub factions outside of UIT space one can start with and work thier way back in so the actual need for them isnt that great.

@ Lecter - Learn to read. These are UIT stations inside Serco and Itani borders.

Don't over-complicate it - it's a very simple suggestion. Place UIT faction stations inside serco and itani space - label them as embassies and vioala.

Why does it have to have special home restrictions? No other stations have story-based restrictions. I agree with the proposition that not having story-based restrictions and relying on stupid borked faction system creates all sorts of stupidity; but these sort of restrictions should apply everywhere. Therefore they should be brought in together when and if a comprehensive system comes out.

In the meantime, just put embassy stations in nation space, screw inconsistent special rules.

I'm not ready to +1 this, but it does sound interesting.

If anybody got stuck in their embassy, all they'd have to do is violate the NFZ in order to have their home station reset to Corvus, and then die.

Besides, being trapped in an embassy because you pissed off the natives is something that happens in real life sometimes, and could be hilarious in VO.

Oh, and the opportunities for tanking some idiot's faction when he fails to notice he has switched jurisdictions before attacking you!

I dunno rin, by the end of that post you sure sounded like you were ready to 1+ it.

Well, on the flip side I don't really see much point to actually having them. If the nations were bigger and more distant, I'd be more inclined to agree with it.

The point is it's handy for pirates/nationalists/invaders and it accentuates that kinda 'har har, it's the 'neutral' UIT interfering again by providing repairs to that miscreant we hate in serco/itani space.

Remember that movie 'sword fish' where the dude has diplomatic immunity and he commits all these crimes and there's hackers and hallie berry topless and stuff. Yeah, that's the kind of stuff we want in VO.
