UIT Consulates

Wouldn't these stations lower the bar in terms of people sneaking past border defenses and avoiding strike forces? Instead of having to potentially jump though several sectors to shake the SF you could just head to the UIT station.

Maybe instead of having them in Jallik and Initros they should be in Divinia and Dantia.

@"Why does it have to have special home restrictions?"

I would like to see them have a HUGELY LIMITED selection. Like just the basics. It shouldn't be a way to get awesome UIT stuff without actually going to UIT.

I would also recommend that they don't "start" escort missions (but they can be destinations). And that they have no Proc missions.

Maybe if they only provide repairs and don't sell or reload weapons.

If I was the Serco or Itani government I'd nuke the shit out of a UIT station that supplied arms to my enemy within my borders.

You can't walk into a USA embassy and buy a gun or a box of ammo.

Yeah, they'd need to be weapon-free. They could still have harmless things like mining beams, scanners, storm radars, and shield turrets. Maybe they could sell training blasters too, just for fun.

That depends on who you are and what branch/agency you work for; embassies tend to be shady places.

That's because everyone has American weapons already, so whats the point?

America isn't also under constant siege from an artificial life form. All stations are entirely justified in providing weapons for the purposes of defending from the hive. If they are misused well that's something the serco/itani gov't would want to take up with the dau senate.

Neither is VO. The hive doesn't attack stations, ever. Not even in missions (PCC is forbidden from cluttering up station sectors) I think the only time this happened was during the dev-run event where they made a bogus station out in a clear sector in Edras just for this purpose...

Snake, do you even know what an embassy is?

lol, touche. :)

If somebody wants to buy a gun in Serco space, they should do it from an authorized Serco retailer, who will be obligated to perform the appropriate background checks etc. You could still haul in weapons from elsewhere and equip them at the embassy.

ARF, if there are certain things that are currently prevented in station sectors: Hive activity, etc. Could some extra stations be exempted from that, therefore keeping the existing protections for the conventional stations but adding some spice in embassy stations. So we could have stations occasionally in ion storms and being attacked by hive bots

Hive activity is not prevented in station sectors, there are just no missions that have been designed to bring them there. Sometimes guides like phaser have events where the hive attacks a station sector.

Oh, he brought in hive bots that time? Cool!
The one I went to it was just players and Phaserlight in an XC collecting the goods.
