To avoid the teleportation, why not use very small 'shuttles' to ferry passengers/crew?

You're not permitted to recruit gunners from other stations. That's the point of there being distinguishing stations one type for capital ships and one for normal ships. It's about trade-offs in selected locations.

This isn't some pussy MMO where the devs just let you do anything and sell access so you can pay more to be better than everybody else if you buy the latest micro-transaction that allows you special beaming powers. Geez.

Who was asking for this? You sure enjoy creating an argument that wasn't there. Nobody was implying anything should be bought. Consider a realistic situation where a being could in fact be transported (by a small shuttle or some such thing) to the ship and left there, not taking up any cargo space at all. And yes, assuming this space game is "futuristic" then why not beam a gunner on board? Ever heard of star trek? If you find that a silly argument, consider what we are discussing - a game about flying spaceships around the galaxy with all kinds of exotic weapons etc. Oh gee, thats what they do in Star Trek too :)

One last point, if player tridents , at least this type, are made to be too restrictive, then who is going to want to go through the effort of building one? I understand your goal , TRS, is for them to be completely useless, but hey , you don't even play anymore...

Yeah.. It's a silly idea.

Also on the second point, You are soooooooooooo wrong. I realise you are a newb here, but I was the fourth person to build the Trident in production.

The next point is that the production of tridents can be effortlessly modified, by the community if necessary. There is no need to add absurd powers with the intent of making them worth the manufacturing effort, we can just reduce the manufacturing effort to balance that out.
