When I called it a heavy assault ship, I was referring to the 2S+2L version Crusader wanted, not the existing ones. I haven't flown the existing UDV yet.

The megaposi is the only good large port weapon for it, unless of course you plan to do the kamakaze jackhamer thing, in which case you're better off going niki style self-detonating mine + avalon centaur.

The megaposi is the only large port energy weapon that doesnt completely dominate the power cell and it actually worth a damn.

It's not even the right configuration to have a jackhammer + megaposi, the only reason the two lports work on a centaur with gat + jack is because of their center configuration.

Are you kidding? Having a pair of wide-set jackhammers is awesome. The only ships you can do this with are 'moths and the Tung Maud, neither of which is very good as a fighter.

It's a troll ship when you're just filling it with a bunch of ammo based weapons so you can come into the sector to spam them and then have nothing to do except run away. Unless you're going to make it have serious thrust and turbo thrust to haul the weight around it will be stupid, and if you do give it enough thrust to do that, it will be overpowered when you equip it with dual megaposi.

I've already said I think adding some better top tier ships for UIT is a good idea, I just dont think a dual large port raptor is going to be as good as people make it out to be.

Just think about it for a second though, its a ship with 215N of cruise thrust at 65m/s top speed with a base 3800kg weight. You're essentially putting dual jackhammers on less than a vulture in terms of cruise maneuverability.
