A couple of quickies

1) Why not reduce the distance away from nearest object to say 2000km before you can jump in the sector - would just speed things up a bit
2) Trading is much too long - it can take 10 mins just to get a measily 650 xp, when you are up in the 8's and 9's you need loads to advance and some people just don't have the masses of spare time required to get there ;-)

I agree, there should be some more in System trading, since hopping all across the galaxy is extremely time consuming..

I also agree with his point on movin git to 2000m, although, even a 2500m JZ would be better...

I would also add

3) When you warp into a sector with a WH you always seem to be about 6000 away from the wh - if that was reduced to 3000 again it would reduce the amount of time you spend "just floating around"

You can shorten the distances all you want but then the system becomes unfair for pirates. Who (now that traders have the option of warping to 249 random sectors to escape) have a much more difficult time of catching their prey or even finding any. And you need to go to more whs because they are all very diffrent. Some are 2k some are as far away as 10k. I feel the system works fine as it is now. Depending on what engine/battery combo you have you can cross a system in under 2 mins.

I think the wormhole thing is random, some times i come out of a nother sector and into the wormhole sector and im 2000m away, other times im 4000 or even 8000 sometimes.

You people complain too much about the "3000m" think, it's not hard if you pay attention and look where your going. And I agree with SS, all of the stuff your whining about is fine as it is for the time being, they aren't big issues.

--for some reason that's about how long it usually took me. going from secret sector to secret sector wasn't that fast in 3.4, for one. the current trading time isn't too bad, if it really is around 10 min.

This looks like a matter of taste. Many players will want to go from combat to combat as quickly as possible and get trade missions over-with as quickly. Others will want to have a feeling of traveling in space, a sense of time and distance.

Last night, all I wanted was to fly about. And I had some fine conversations along the way.

There is necessary tweaking, there are many good ideas already scattered over the forum many of which will help here.
A big one for me is having the 'roids shown clearly on the radar.

I've done a few and received 210-350 each. And "only" 10 minutes?
I haven't used my stopwatch (yet) but it seems mine have taken longer than that.
But maybe thats because it's so damned BORING !!! Where is the "fun" the Devs
have been talking about?

I have lots of 10 minute trade runs with xp around 650.
And I'm at trade 8 in a hvy/hvy Centaur.
but perhaps most are longer for less xp.

Well im also level 8. And my normal reward for 25 mins of trading is 900 "split in 2 seperate handovers ". The 10 - 15 mins give me 450... and an increase in standing that is relatively small. Taking the folowupmissions can even take you away for 1 hour and only give a reward of 1.3k with a noticeable increase. It would be better if taking a followupmission would be a decnet reward and a standignincrease "the normal one" with the option of going on. If you go on you retain the previous bonus and can hope on gaining an even higher reward as well xp as standing "but you need to get the reward even if you go on with another continuing mission"

It really is annoying if your internet falls out and you loose all the time invested :( "1 hour of standing increase gone"

on a sidenote, could it be possible that giving every station a 1 - 2 block controll radius ???

So that you get as well sectors protected by orion as ones protected by neutral nations as ones controlled by axia, corvus ... If some sectors overlap, then it will either be both or toss a coin :D. Imagine defbot 1 going after defbot 2 since it is annoying you "you are admired by the people from defbot 1 :D but hated by the people from defbot 2 :p"
