Battery Suggestions

Assuming you plan on doing the same thing with batteries that you've done with weapons (add a lot more in such that it's interesting as you level, and different stations can have diverse stock), I've got a battery suggestion. Everyone else feel free to add other suggestions on possible new batteries.

Traders' Battery (assuming their are trade ships that come with eff engines)
Capacity: 0
Charge rate: 50 per second
Level Requirement: Low-Medium trade

This would mean no energy weapons, and no turboing without an effecient engine.

heh. make it come with the tradeship that has efficient engine.
this isn't bad... not being able to use energy weapons is no great loss for a low agility tradeship.

How's about the same bat, but with a faster charge; so that you can use a med engine? Now that's something a trader would buy, huh?

How about we just let us buy the eff/fast charge engines, and have a good trading ship with no weapons spots.

Speaking of engines....I *really* hope that the Devs don't make engines that you can't detatch. Everyone would start flying around in sux0r ships so they have the medium/fc combo...

The advantage of this battery is that you could buy it with trade levels only. You would not need combat levels. Last I checked the fast charge battery required level nine combat, which is completely prohibitive for pure traders. This is not supposed to be better, or equal to the Fast Charge battery. It is completely worse.

A trader (only, not a trader/fighter) should not (and can not at this point) get a fast charge battery since they could put it into a fighter just as easily as a trade ship, and it is generally the most powerful fighting battery.

As for Sheean's suggestion... at what level? That seems like it would make a ship that could easily escape anyone, and never be able to be caught no matter how massive, therefore I'd think it's a bad idea, unless a) it's very high level AND b) there be some equivalent rig that could be made with fighter levels that could catch it at very high levels.

if it's a medium engine-efficient batt, it could get away from anyone. I would consider rigging a med engine, eld's batt vult with only ammo weapons... and that's not good.
