Guilds again...

Ok, how about this.

If you don't happen to get up to 10 pilots to form up a guild, I hated the idea where the guild is automatticly disbanded 10 minutes if you don't get no more than 10 players.

Last night, we had like 8 players in our guild 6 minutes before it automatticly got canceled.

What I was suggesting is.. a placeholder for the guild. Lets say if you do not get 10 people to finally form up a guild, instead of canceling 10 minutes after a guild is created, it would be a nice place holder until we could get 10 people. When a character(one per account) enters the guild, then they will be a place holder for a guild.

When your guild is in placeholder, you cannot talk in the guild chat, and your guild tags don't display while you are being targeted, not even in charinfo.

When you get 10 people into the guild, then it's finally formed and completed.

But the place holder don't last forever. Mabie like 7 days or so.

Good idea or bad idea??

i'd say it's a good idea... 2 days ago me and omegaforce were trying to form the long awaited EnB guild and one of the 10 members logged off while we were recruiting up to 10... whole thing got cancelled... bad idea. the tempholder seems like a good idea. 7 days would be too much i would say. but like 3 days should be fine to gather up 10 people. and if they log off, their subscription to the guild remains active... not the whole thing gets cancelled... it wasn;t pretty.

just my 2 cents... (yanshi)

Just stretch that 10 minutes or whatnot. I'll admit, sometimes those 10 initial pilots are not on at the same time.

10 minutes is a bit harsh, IMO. It should be closer to a day, but barring that , at least an hour...

regarding guilds.... why only 2 lieutenants? there are a lot of timezones... at least 5 lieutenants that have recruiting and kicking priviledges... there are players from all over the world... would be nice to have a lieutenant in guild in the morning us times, one in the afternoon, one during evening, one at night, and one at early morning... that way we accomodate somewhat most timezones. 2 lieutenants aren;t enough... if i am on in the morning and in the evening only, who takes care of guild during day and night? today our guild lost 25 - 30 recruits because no recruiters could be online. please add the option for at least 5 lieutenants.

just my 2 cents... (yanshi)

Or how about cutting down the limit down to 5 people when creating a guild instead of 10???

If this game was popular like WoW, then I would say sure, leave the 10 people limit.

However, this game is technically not popular compared to other mmorpgs out there. I'm guessing that this game will have a fairly small community.

Game popularity doesn't even come into it much.
Though, with only 150 people on, that means only 15 guilds could start. Ever...

It's difficult to find 10 people who all have the same idea. Why even have a limit? What's wrong with having a 2-3 person Guild?

I think the 10 minute mark is harsh, maybe knocking it up to an hour. The 10 peeps thing can be hard to gather, but then I also think a good guild should have atleast 10 peeps anyway, maybe knocking it down to 5 could work, but that could result in 'alot' of tiny guilds all over the placew :-)

In regards to command structure, I've mentioned it in another thread. The 2 lieutenants really arn't enough, its almost impossable fora guild to cover all timezones with 3 people with recruiting rights, I know the EnB guild has lost almost 40 - 50 people now due to no one been online to recruit them. Also the voting system also needs refining, since some things like recriuting new commanders and lt's can only be done when certain people are there, hich is good in some ways, but bad in otheres.

Also, you can't compare this games popularity to other games yet, since its still in beta and hasn't really done much in the way of advertising yet 8although WoW is an exception in its rather large following) :-)
