Maybe the chat could be a 3d lobby where we can wear our medals and stuff on our uniforms and play checkers or chess while we chat? Hmmmm?

There is no planned 3D anything in the Station interface. I believe that you can chat with players in the station in the bar. I don't think there'll be checkers or chess, though; you can go ahead and download a checkers or chess program for that.
