Joystick buttons + sector list, etc.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature. =)

I can hit 'u' and bring up the list of people in the sector. I can then hit either escape or 'u' again to close this window. Same with char info ('k').. etc.

But, if I assign a joystick button to the same option, pressing the button does not close the list or char info window. This means I have to reach over and hit escape, which is not a big deal normally, but when I want to quickly check the target's info, or check on the sector list, it gets aggravating because I somehow always expect the button to close it.

Is this just a bug, and it should already do this, or is it be something that can be changed? (I'm on linux with a USB gamepad.)

If you have assigned your joystick button the action of typing a "u" (or "k"), hitting the button a second time should close the window.

If you assigned the button to perform the action, it will not perform the close action if it is pressed a second time.

I don't know how to assign keys to buttons, nor do I really want to.. (I don't think the config can do that, and I don't want to mess with outside programs - ie. joy2key - thank you google)

The joystick binds are treated differently than keyboard binds ('u' and JOYBUTTON10 are both bound to +TopList), and I think it should be the same.

I guess I'll give joy2key a try for the time being.

Yeah, it's an issue. It will eventually be fixed but right now it's pretty low on my list. It IS on my list though. Which says a lot, actually. :)

That's all I would have hoped for, knowing the situation.

Thanks. It's really just a convenience issue, and those things ought to be back-burner'ed.

*Bump*

Just noticed that the nav screen can be closed with a joystick button. And it's everything I thought it could be! =)

Thanks! Now for the other screens (top scores, character info in particular).
