Group Bonuses?

Nov 11, 2004 Anevitt link
Hello, Anevitt here. Ive been doin a lot of botting lately and I have really enjoyed teaming up with friends and guildies and doing the group combat mission.

But what I have noticed is that when I do the group combat mission with other players, I find it much more difficult to gain combat experience with a group than if I just headed out to the same spot and started nailing the bots myself.

I dont know if you guys talked about this before (too many posts to look through and too little time to look through them :P) but I wanted to suggest adding some group bonuses such as:

1. Increasing the amount of experience gained for destroying the perscribed amount of bots the group needs to kill.

2. Increasing the experience gained for killing each bot in a group.

3. Rewarding each individual player in a group with a certain amount of experience at the end of the group combat mission based on the amount of bots they killed.

Let me know what you all think of adding any of the following. Take care and have fun out there!

Well the whole point of group missions is you can do them faster with more people. You will get more exp per time spent.

Now this of course depends on the skill of the pilots you team up with. If they die constantly chanses are you are better off in a solo mission or doing a group mission solo.

However I do like the idea of getting extra exp depending on bots killed, but I see too many problems. Some players may be designated to take on 2-3 high level bots while others may take 6-7 low level bots. In this case the first person has more work to get the kills and stay alive. There are a multitude of problems that one would have to over come to make a system like that functional. All in all the current system is pretty good.

The problem that I have is that when you group up with a higher level player, you have to kill twice as many bots as what the higher level player would have to kill. Say for a single player combat you have to kill 4 bots to get the combat exp, and you group with someone that has to kill 6 bots. Combined you are going to have to kill 12 bots, which defeats the purpose of grouping with the lower level player all together, no matter how fast either can kill the bots. Thats the main reason why Im suggessting bigger bonuses of any kind for groups.

If it just cant be done as far as pluggin it into the system and making it work then I can understand, but from my perspective playing the game there isnt much insentive to grouping with other players in general.

I completely agree with Anevitt. First off when you group up and kill say 8 bots (when the standard is 4 per person) then you get half of the money split between 2 people. If you kill twice the amount of bots per mission I would like to think that the credits should be doubled. Also you can't really kill bots faster when grouped. I mean maybe if there's someone whose more skilled but the same level as you, then I would see the logic in grouping with them. If they are your friends.... yeah there's enough incentive. If your more skilled than a person though.... their just gonna add bots to your list. I find it hard for everyone in their group to pull their own weight. That's why I think that when teams acquire a group mission, the bot count should be droped perhaps 1 bot per person. (let's say 4 people * 4 bots each = 16 Then minus 4 people * bot discount = 12 bots per group to kill before bonus) Everyone follow?

Well that's just my opinion. I'm sure others have the same if not similar.
