no matter what i seem to do, VO will not run with this pad. unlike others i dont get a too sensitive or too unresponsive but i actually just cant use it at all. it is detected in the config tab and i have tried to calibrate it. Even made sure to set the keyboard and mouse system up. So does anyone have any idea why this could not be working?

Did you turn mouselook off? Because a joystick will not work with it on.

found the mouselook and toggled the option a couple of times nothing changes it still will not use my joypad. any other ideas?

Have you installed the joystick package and tried to configure the joystick using jscal (or the gnome gui jscalibrator) ?

yeah i configured it using jscal everything works as it should in terms of calibrating but i dont think it saves the config since after calibrating it and running jscal -t /dev/js0 i get a message saying that it is not calibrated.

just found an old sidewinder strategetic commander which works in VO without a problem. it seems its just this pad...
