The IGPK have announced today their intention to sponsor the Vendetta Grand Prix.

A series of races to be held over consecutive weekends. Pilots will race to set the best time on each track in Sedina.
RULES
1. Pilots may use any ship, and any battery combination.
2. Use of weapons, dropping of cargo or mines in the race track, will result in immediate disqualification for the team from that particular race. /exploding, or logging out for any reason will also result in disqualification, from that particular race.

TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
The team championship will be awarded to the team with the best cumulative time, over all the tracks in Sedina.

INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Championship Points will be awarded to the 10 fastest finishers in the following manner:
Fastest = 12pts, 2nd= 9pts, 3rd = 8pts, 4th = 7pts, 5th= 6pts,
6th=5pts, 7th=4pts, 8th =3pts, 9th =2pts, 10th=1pt
The individual pilot championship will be awarded to the racer who scores the highest points total over all the races.

PRIZE MONEY
IGPK will present the following prizes:
Team Championship first prize = 1,000,000 credits
Individual Pilot Championship = 500,000 credits

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Each team must consist of TWO pilots, no individual entries will be accepted. Both pilots must apply while online and in the same sector, as arranged with IGPK.

Entry Fee 50,000 credits per team payable in advance to IGPK, upon application to enter the championship.

I will be online tomorrow 20th to take entrants, and register the teams, the first race will be held on Sunday 21st at 20:00 GMT (that's 21:00 London, UK), which would be, I believe, 15:00 in New York EST ? (unless you have daylight saving time there).

If I dont get sufficient entrants this weekend The race will be held over for one week until we can get enough competitors 10 teams would be ideal.

This event is designated a non PvP event, and a guide has informed me that anyone violating this rule will probably get kicked, (sounds painful). We need more entrants to make the whole thing work so if you want to encourage events like this spread the word, get your guild mates involved, and enter a team.

The first team has registered they are known as the 'Sucking Losers' captained by 'Larry Le Beuf'

If we dont get more entrants by this evening, we will have to postpone the start of the race sequence - Please, put your other plans on hold for just a few minutes and come to Sedina B5 tonight at 20:00hrs GMT and get involved, in what could become a regular Sunday night feature.

Moviemaker Wanted.
IGPK will pay handsomely for any player who is willing to come to the Grand Prix races and film the events using FRAPS or something similar, we can then post the movies created on the messageboard to let others know what they have missed.

We didnt have enough teams to make the race viable. It was a bit short notice, so maybe we can get something organised for next weekend. Spread the word, get your guildmates involved, we ned a few more teams to enter to make it a real competition.

If I have my act together by the time of the event, I'll film it. Perhaps we should have "in-car" views like FOX's NASCAR coverage? An outside view, and each player records their own race. Splice the parts together into a movie and it could be kinda cool.

At the very least there should be a decent pilot who can trail the pack while filming, and an outside "wide-angle" camera for entrance/exit shots.

I'm on a iMac, using SnapzPro. I can do some minor editing with iMovie and such, but there are others here who have "REAL" video equipment that could make something great if we all submitted racing footage.

Gotta give me a link to download software and I'll record.

www.fraps.com has a free download which will do the job. I like the idea of several camera angles, and agree a 'cockpit view' from the racers would make the film more exciting.

If you could have audio clips of interviews playing during the race that would be cool to. I know audacity can be used for free to record stuff. All you need is a mic.

Naw, what we NEED is for Holden to come back and announce the races.

But yeah a real voiceover would be great, especially for the post-race interviews. I can see it now...

I think just hold the race and see who can show up & film it, work with what ya got...
