2) Race starts in Odia M14 near the station.
3) Contestants must be within 100m of me before the start
4) No shooting before I start the race.
5) You die and you're out (so no /exploding)

* In addition to the prize money listed above, EnB is now offering BONUS prize money for pilots from competing guilds that place better than the top EnB pilot. The size of the bonus will vary depending on the number of racers fielded by the competing guild. If a single pilot from another guild competes and beats the EnB pilots, the solo pilot receives a 50% bonus. If another guild fields more than one pilot, then each of it's pilots that beats the EnB pilots will receive a 100% bonus. This means you could win up to 4 million credits total for first place.

If you have questions about the bonus prize money, please inquire with Dragon of Fire or Alanon. (Feel free to post questions here.)

I'll post it in the news tab when I get home from school.

Have a good title for it so there isn't the same title over and over and over in the news tab?

How about something creative like:

TGFT and EnB sponsor The Deneb Run #14 - Bonuses available for Guild pilots

That is so wrong. If I didn't win 3rd, EnB would've swept the race anyway.

Announcing the results of The Deneb Run #14, sponsored by TGFT and EnB.

It was another large race this week, with 7 pilots lined up at the starting position outside Corvus Hold. It was also another week in which a significant number of the pilots would not make it to the finish line.

The Pilots
----------
MonkofAkan: Itani, member of the Cerberes Defense Council, former race winner and host of the Corporate Sectors Run.

LeberMac: Itani, council member of the Itani Alliance, long time veteran of The Deneb Run and a strong competitor, but he hasn't won since The Deneb Run #5, sponsored this week by Ory'Hara (anti-SCAR) and Master Vandar (SKV).

Ory'Hara: Itani, new to racing in The Deneb Run, though he managed to kill 1 pilot and severely wound another during The Deneb Run #12.

Dragon of Fire: Serco, Commander of Earth and Beyond, two time race winner, and part of the EnB team that was only 2 seconds away from a complete sweep of last week's race.

Smarvin: Itani, Council member and Lieutenant in Earth and Beyond, he raced once before but was shot down in a CDC ambush just after taking the lead.

Obsidian: UIT, council member of The Guild of Free Traders, new to The Deneb Run, and all around helpful person (Guide).

iTripped: UIT, member of The Guild of Free Traders, also new to The Deneb Run.

The Race
--------
Quote of the night: "Oops." - Dragon of Fire

As the race started, all racers except Obsidian took a detour on the way to the wormhole to Sedina. Obsidian went straight, and soon found herself flying sideways as her Behemoth entered an ion storm. Dragon of Fire also discovered that he was in trouble as his navigation computer seemed to be acting up (lag).

MonkofAkan emerged first in Sedina, followed by LeberMac, Ory'Hara, Smarvin, iTripped, and Dragon of Fire. Smarvin detoured into an undocumented asteroid field on his way through Sedina, allowing iTripped and Dragon of Fire to pass him.

MonkofAkan was first into Latos, followed closely by LeberMac and Ory'Hara. Playing catch up after the storm in Odia, Obsidian was just entering Sedina. Next into Latos were Dragon of Fire and iTripped, who entered simultaneously, and Smarvin who was slightly behind.

LeberMac and MonkofAkan entered Ukari simultaneously, with Ory'Hara not far behind. Dragon of Fire entered 4th with a few second lead on iTripped. Smarvin was starting to fall behind the main pack in 6th while Obsidian in 7th had just entered Latos.

MonkofAkan entered Initros with LeberMac right on his tail, the two of them both outstripping the rest of the pack. MonkofAkan was already in Pyronis when Dragon of Fire announced he had entered Initros, followed closely by Smarvin. Meanwhile, Ory'Hara must have held back after entering Initros, because he soon announced that he had shot down iTripped with some skillfully aimed triple volleys of Sunflare rockets.

While MonkofAkan opted for Pyronis, LeberMac opted for the Rhamus route. Not long afterward, MonkofAkan entered Dantia while LeberMac hit an ion storm. Dragon of Fire opted for the Pyronis route while Smarvin and then Ory'Hara went via Rhamus.

MonkofAkan was all the way to Sol II when LeberMac entered Dantia, and Obsidian had finally made it into Ukari. Meanwhile, Smarvin found the same storm as LeberMac in Rhamus, and Ory'Hara detoured into a different storm.

Dragon of Fire entered Dantia next, well behind LeberMac. Ory'Hara entered Dantia about a minute later, followed closely by Smarvin.

Obsidian entered Initros as LeberMac hit a storm in Sol II, and MonkofAkan continued to run away with it by entering Betheshee. LeberMac finally made it to the far side of Sol II as Dragon of Fire, Ory'Hara and Smarvin entered Sol II. Ory'Hara promptly dispatched Dragon of Fire with more volleys of rockets, earning his second kill for the race.

MonkofAkan entered Geira Rutilus while Smarvin joked nervously that it's a good thing that he and Ory'Hara can't hurt each other, and they both had a good laugh until they entered the ion storm recently discovered by LeberMac.

Lebermac was most of the way through Betheshee and MonkofAkan had entered Deneb when the Serco Race Escorts come out in force in Sol II to encourage Ory'Hara to pick up the pace. A short while later, Obsidian entered Rhamus.

MonkofAkan announced he was in Eo only 30 seconds after LeberMac entered Geira Rutilus. Ory'Hara seems to have gained a solid lead on Smarvin as they passed through Betheshee.

LeberMac was almost taken out by Serco Race Escorts as he entered Deneb, while seconds later MonkofAkan emerged from a wormhole into Cantus. Ory'Hara was now about a jump ahead of Smarvin in Geira Rutilus. Meanwhile, an unfortunate collision with an asteroid somewhere in Rhamus knocked open a container of tribbles in Obsidian's Behemoth. As they reached the cockpit and began feasting on the various leftover crumbs of foodstuff, their soft fur and quick movements tickled Obsidian and made it difficult for her to control the ship, prompting her to broadcast that she was under attack.

This order continued for the next few systems, with MonkofAkan maintaining about a 1 system lead on LeberMac, and a 2 system lead on Ory'Hara. Smarvin continued to fall further behind, with Obsidian way back in her tribble-filled Behemoth, periodically being swarmed by the small creatures and then driving them off by throwing a candy bar down the hallway. One wonders if this only encouraged the creatures more, though.

As Smarvin entered Cantus, he was unexpectedly forced to bail out of the race. At this point, MonkofAkan was in Pherona, LeberMac was in Itan, Ory'Hara was in Setalli Shinas, and Obsidian was in Betheshee with 85% hull remaining after a few tribble-induced collisions with asteroids.

An interesting thing started happening at this point... Ory'Hara started closing the gap on LeberMac in Itan, so LeberMac poured some of his special tequila into the fuel system of his Valkyrie and soon found himself gaining on MonkofAkan.

MonkofAkan had a commanding lead, so it took a while, but by the time he entered Jallik, LeberMac was only 20 seconds behind. Meanwhile, Ory'Hara had some bad luck with storms and was back in Artana Aquilus, and Obsidian was still wrestling for control of her ship in Deneb.

As they entered Edras, MonkofAkan was feeling the pressure of seeing LeberMac only 3 seconds behind. By the time they were at the wormhole to Pelatus, LeberMac had taken the lead, and Ory'Hara was in Divinia.

LeberMac was able to keep up this burst of speed all the way to Corvus Hold and take 1st place, arriving nearly a minute before MonkofAkan who took 2nd. Root Baba and Drago Ferraris, having no love for Ory'Hara and sensing the possible humor of Obsidian taking 3rd in a Behemoth, did their best to stop Ory'Hara as he passed through Pelatus and Bractus, but he managed to survive and dock in Corvus Hold for 3rd place.

Obsidian, now in Metana and encouraged by the other racers, decided to keep on truckin'. In a move never seen before, LeberMac and Ory'Hara left the bar at Corvus Hold and flew back along the course to help escort Obsidian through gray space. They were also joined by Nerde Verde.

Ory'Hara's intentions were not immediately clear, however, and as they entered Edras together, Ory'Hara began to fire on Obsidian. Thankfully, LeberMac and Nerde Verde were able to chase him off, though Obsidian's hull was now down to 65%.

Nearly dead and low on rockets, Ory'Hara docked in Pelatus Bunker while Obsidian sailed by and into Bractus. Ory'Hara made another attempt to finish the job as she flew toward Corvus Hold, but he was not able to catch up to her, and she succesfully completed the race.

The Stats
---------
LeberMac | 30:53 | IDF Valk, uc batt (yes uc, not fc), no weaps
MonkofAkan | 31:47 | Valk Veng, fc batt, 3x sunflare
Ory'Hara | 33:33 | IDF Valk, fc batt, 3x sunflare
Obsidian | 54:47 | Behemoth, fc batt, no weaps
Smarvin | DNF | IDF Valk, fc batt, 2x sunflare, neut mk2
Dragon of Fire | DNF | IDF Valk, fc batt, no weaps
iTripped | DNF | Centurion Mk2, fc batt, no weaps

Interesting observations:

1) LeberMac achieved the fastest race time since the ship rebalance and warp changes circa The Deneb Run #9.
2) Ory'Hara shot down two other pilots in this race, which is a new record.
3) Obsidian is the first pilot to successfully complete The Deneb Run in a Behemoth. Gruumsh tried it in The Deneb Run #11, but didn't survive.
4) After 4 consecutive races where EnB has had a pilot place somewhere in the top 3, they didn't even finish the race this week.
