Radio TGFT is now live at: http://www.live365.com/stations/dj_screwball

It's a 3+ hour loop of music that I like to listen to while playing Vendetta. I have other tracks ready for special events, like The Deneb Run, and can do a live broadcast and playlist for that.

If anyone has suggestions on tracks I should add, or if you want to advertise on Radio TGFT, reply here, contact me in game, or leave a note on tgft.org. (Yes, I mean RP advertising.)

This station is for the whole VO community. Let's put it to good use.

Enjoy!

Advertising? Commercials? As in pay-to-get your-product-known advertising?
Please clarify before I say: "NO FUCKING WAY!!!!"

By RP advertising, I think he means role-playing advertising such as

"Tired of losing all your cargo to pirates? Contact Binro for highly-trained, bonded escort pilots".

"Rusty implants? Get SercOff, the titanium polish recommended by warlords throughout the galaxy"

"Are you wealthy, well-equipped, stupid, and underskilled? Come see what Grey Space has to offer! Simply announce your itinerary over channel 100 for rapid service."

Cool :)

"Wheres that Belmoth when you can't find one? Why don't you give us a call at Divinia, Divine Duty! We will warp down to you and deliver your good. (Now said in quiet voice and fast) If the Belmoth you have hired is damaged or dystroyed, we take no responsability for the loss of your cargo or equipment. you may ask for a refund if you are not sataisfied. You satoursy rights will be affected"

Lol!!

THANKS Screwball.

But ( sorry for that "but") my ping is usually around 150, as I'm in the caribean, may be listenning to the radio will make it reach 300-400ish...

But I'll use it in some occasions ( trading, minning mentoring newbies etc...)

Good Idea Thou I love it !

d'oh.... B 52's, David Bowie...
It recalls me that day when I saw something like that on 100 and felt like I was some kind of disappearing animal:
[100] player : who do you say ? Pink Floyd ?
[100] otherplayer : yes, it was a rock band in the 80's

btw, linux users, live365 streams are accessible with Stream Tuner ( http://www.nongnu.org/streamtuner/ ), give it a try, its really worth

Not to quibble but Pink Floyd was a band which DIED in the eighties, they were going strong for about 15 years before that...

RattMann: I'm not charging real money for the ads on Radio TGFT. This is a role-playing thing, so characters would negotiate in-game payment or favors in return for placing ads on Radio TGFT. It seems to me that this is perfectly in keeping with TGFT being a bunch of free market capitalists. If you don't want to advertise on it, so be it. If you want to setup a competing station, go for it.

LeberMac: Yes! I definitely could use your skill in producing professional ads. (I suspect others could too.) The idea we already discussed would be perfect, and I'm willing to pay for it (in game). Catch me in game and we can exchange contact info.

Nioubi: Thanks for pointing out the Linux client. Does XMMS not work too?

Ghostieboy and anyone else wishing to submit an ad, I'll need an MP3 or other audio file that I can convert to MP3.

Everybody else: Tune in, drop out... oh wait... I mean, suggest songs.

Works in most Linux media players screw, tested myself on xmms, rythimbox/totem, noatun, vlc and mplayer, so I dont think you have to worry about which media player is used :)

Nice idea matey!

well, Stream Tuner allows you to browse all the live 365 content, make searches in it, but also other streaming sources like shoutcast, punkcast, Xiph, Google Stations...
Stream Tuner doesn't play anything, a player like XMMS *is* needed.

It runs straight from a link in iTunes on a mac , you don't even need a player......

Running said link either by typing it directly into the prompt or by opening the .pls file crashes iTunes on my computer. Suxxor.
