Multi-natal Transgressive Fatigue, or: How I learned to start worrying and hate death.

Supervising authority: Prof. Dr. mifune toshiro

Recent experiments, studies and black box data evaluation has shown that the current system that allows the continued use of human material causes nigh-irreparable stress on the individual subject.

I am sure the esteemed reader is already acquainted with the way how pilots manage to live long lives. The pedestrian explanation: They make a copy of themselves to have their mental patterns transferred to it in the event of sudden death. Thus, prolonged life is made possible, even in times of strife.

This technology has been present for some time now, but only lately have we been actively following possible side-effects of the treatment. These include, but are not limited to, fatigue inflicted on the subject. One would think that with rest and careful realignment of the mental patterns, this fatigue would disappear, but that is not the case. Though subliminal, to an extent that in one single instance it is impossible to trace, the 'wear and tear' of pattern transfer manifests itself over time in the subject and can cause lighter symptoms such as migraine, and in more serious cases has been known to provoke or amplify schizophrenic symptoms, and, in extreme cases, loss of cognitive functions.

These cases are very rare, not exceeding the ppm threshold yet, but even so, the development is alarming, since an increase in afflicted personnel has been ascertainable over the last 40 years, using reconstructions of pathologic data and research reports. Endeavors to find a remedy to the symptoms have only just started to gain acceptance in the scientific community, and results are to be expected no sooner than 20 years from now.

Thank you for your time.

Lucky me, I haven't been using such a system since March.

Oh, right. I forgot:

Currently, the only way to reduce such fatigue is not to die for extended periods of time. Trite but true, even here.

So that explains my *twitch* problem then! I cannot seem to stay alive for longer than a few seconds when confronted by an enemy of the state.

In a related side note.. just who is the company responsible for developing this mind-transfer process? I am currently running low on funds, and would like to sue them.

Perhaps the good Dr. Lecter would like a piece of the pie, in representing me? Perhaps we can negotiate a.... fee.

I believe the companies in question would be BioCom and Valiant, Eize Ryda. Other corporations do possess knock-off models, but the BC-V co-op is the only industrial bloc with the resources and know-how to develop such a technology. The technology, however, is hardly new, and you would have a difficult time fighting against something so long ingrained into all of our respective societies.

Interconnectivity in the Serco Dominion, or: How would I go about making billions of people take one sidestep to the left simultaneously?

Supervising authority: Prof. Dr. mifune toshiro

It is common knowledge that the devices the Serco enhance themselves with do not go without benefits. It is also widely known that these benefits include physical and psychical function enhancement, but it is a less-known fact that all the circuitry also encompasses a means to easily communicate with others.

I will not make the mistake and draw parallels to old earth fiction, by talking of the 'Net' and that it is a world parallel to this one. Rather, it is a similar one, in the sense that it is overlayed to the one we physically inhabit and provides an extended version of the latter.

In short, it is one big forum. Practically everyone can shout from their soapbox to their heart's content, they can change their entire appearance at the bat of an eye, and all of this is run on their own personal system. The overlay being distributed over so many systems makes it virtually indestructible and completely vulnerable at the same time.

The technical details of it are trivial, so I will mention the ones that seem least so:

• Information can be processed via any medium that allows for adequate signal-to-noise ratio. You can use smoke if you want to, but expect wind to interfere. Also, the information is displayed in whatever form the receiver prefers to have it relayed to her or him, albeit this choice is not usually made consciously.

• The Serco Triumvirate can issue orders to everyone in reach (concrete will not save you). Those orders can not usually be disobeyed, but they are limited to a very basic set. 'Simon Says' is possible.

• You cannot kill a Serco and use their equipment since it has been fine-tuned to and hard-wired into her or his persona.

• Even otherwise non-enhanced fleshlings can receive the comm treatment, since it is only mildly invasive (especially compared to the other enhancements) and fairly cheap.

• Every warrior has to undergo the treatment. No exceptions whatsoever.

• Some people perceive things others do not. We at D-MedRAR have not been able to fully fathom this phenomenon, and so far, esoteric and downright nonsensical explanations have run free in the entire universe.

Thank you for your time.
