THE SIXTH TUBE RACE

RULES

1) Ships allowed: any stock Centurion or Vulture up to and including MkIII.
2) Weaponry allowed: any non-ammo.
3) Races: ten races total, two per Sedina track tube but "The Maze".
4) Winner: each one of the ten races awards points to pilots. Pilot standing is totalled at the end of the ten races.
5) Points: from 1st place down, 10, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1. Arriving seventh or later, dying, being killed, or ending out of the tubes yield 0 (zero) points.
6) Prizes: 3M, 2M and 1M to the first three pilots in the final standings.

WHERE AND WHEN

Sedina system, Friday 21:00GMT. We will use five tracks (all but G5), but the exact sequence will be chosen only when the group is ready to race.

There was a slight change of setup, due to the late time, and amount of participants.

The races were only eight, in the following sectors: H5, E5, F5 and B5.

The turnout, TEN runners, was impressive. The bumping was too!

The original prizes (6M by PA) has been kindly increased to 8M by Jestatis Bess, who co-sponsored and co-hosted the event.

Use of G5 is being considered for the following TRs. However, not everyone knows how to navigate The Maze. I'd suggest that wannabe tuberacers train on the racetracks till they know how to tackle G5.

This time I used the "only registered times will be counted". Some pilots finished the lap, but weren't registered by the tube. Next races, I'll count them in the standings.

Anyway, here are the results, with "DNF" meaning either boomed, exited the tube, ranked 7th or worse, or not registered:

Mick, with an astounding six first places, wins 4M.
Niki, always tailgating him, wins 2.5M.
Miharu, whose rearend attracted too many bumps, is third and wins 1.5M.

Please, be patient with the event organization as we polish the obvious rough edges. We're trying to find a good formula for everyone, as point systems, tracks to use, etc.

Whats rules where changed?

Reducing the event from ten races to only eight, skipping the races in D5.

Well why did u change the rules? Just wondering :)

Maybe because I spent an hour practicing mostly in B-5 and D-5 right before the race? But why whould Kat be so evil to me >_>

We skipped it because it was taking a bit too long.
And sorry about that Aleksey, we'll make sure to race at D5 next week so you can pwn us all ;)
