This should really be called .150, as it is not a minor release, but Ray was a bit tired and happened to call it .149.2.

*** Vendetta 1.8.149.2
- Border skirmish bots now give weapon XP.
- All ships now use the same storm exit point.
- Fix for crash when buying back or swapping out addons.
- Removed debug print.

We'll have to wait and see how the storm-exit thing works. The idea stemmed from this suggestion.

W00T! Finally, we'll get rewarded for obliterating toasters in BS! And I won't have to deal with crashing 8 times within 2 hours!!! GREAT update!!!! :DDD

I miss the updates where we "fixed crashing bug" and stuff like that.

"All ships now use the same storm exit point". I sense pirates lurking in storms now...

Toasters are what you use to craft toast out of bread, and toasted bagels out of regular bagels. It's also a slang term for Serco.

@ntli:
Radar occlusion was already deployed when I joined VO, so not an upgrade for me... well over 6 months ago.

Interesting solution to the exit points...

Every few jumps in regular space are still wrong

and

storm exits are frequently near large roids.
Oct 21, 2010 CrazySpence link
regular space jumps don't matter you can just follow the npcs

True, but....

The bug is not limited to storm sectors only which should make it easier to find.....

Im surprised they havent figured out to setup a number of different exit points and then use the same exit for all non worm hole jumps. If there were say 16 standard exits then they could simply grab a random number and have the voy all use the corresponding exit for the entire trip. Most players would never even suspect the exits were standardised and some processor time would be saved as well.

PaKettle: that's interesting. How "wrong" are they? Like 10,000m away kind of wrong? It's nice that this solution has made the problem less annoying, but it'd still be useful to solve the original problem too.

[EDIT, saw your new post]: We actually do something like what you describe. The mystifying part is why the resulting jump positions are so different. We've logged and debugged it a million times, and it always shows the same consistent point for all parties. Something unexpected is happening at some other.. layer.

I for one am finding the new storm exit points much more enjoyable. before once you were under the 4km mark you could just set to turbo and be pretty much free of hitting a rock. Now you need to stay alert as a lot of jump points are very near or ontop of rocks. They also seem shorter for the most part. Great job.

Storms became shorter and much more dangerous. Became much more FUN! Even the roids near exit points are more fun!

Also, now makes sense to ambush ion storms exit points. Before, it was a waste of time, since only few convoys actually gone same exit as the "pirate". Now everybody converges...

This update was as good as Frame Limiter and ConqStations... since it serves more people, the best one since I joined.
