I really think VO should have more player events, it would create a more positive competetive atmosphere, if players won't cause trouble and crash the events. Darth Nihilus announced TRI would be hosting Nation War this weekend, unfortunately I won't be able to attend due to a monthly obligation, but I hope everyone has fun. We should do events like nation war more often, possibly even organizing battles between warring guilds (TGFT-SKV, SKV-ONE/RED etc) and settling differences that can't be settled in a diplomatic forum with blasters instead of insults and pointless banter

Even with Dev run events some groups of players have felt it their duty to crash events. It's a part of the game, sadly.

:/ the one weekend there's a nation war I have a commitment. Maybe I'll hold a tournament in the coming weeks if there's interest. The problem with player events is more that participation is generally low, due to timezones, boycotting (TGFT & NW), poor announcing, etc. than people crashing events, I think.

I will decide a time tonight, submit the event and advertise in game all week long.

We will also start organizing a 3v3 tournament and attempt the have the groups guild affiliated. Everyone be on the lookout for that.

As a new player, I have had a hard time finding out when, where, and if there are any player events. We need a stickied forum board or something, kept UP TO DATE with upcoming player events, such as Nation War, BBF, tournaments, etc. The results could be posted on the same board.

Bring back Capture the Flag!!!!!!!!! that should have been made a constant part of the game in the form of a mission or something.

teddyrandell, there is already a system in place for that -- it's the link to the left that says "Event Submissions", and events posted through that will show up on the main page of the website under the bit that says "Coming Events" as well as in the news window when you log into the game.

The problem is that people are lazy bums, so they don't always bother to post the event in advance.

Um, shooting racers - both by other racers and by spectators - was always part of DR. Usually the most deadly part of the race was docking in Odia without getting toasted.

Unlike all that fun, the turrets are simply too random and prolific to make for a feasible run. Obviously you can still do it, either with a bunch of balanced standing alts or with people who are down to randomly explode based on loading times and warp-in location, but it's significantly less fun.

What about having a run in grey instead then?

The Corporate Sector run is a shorter race run through UIT and grey. Not sure why we haven't had one of those, there were some similar complaints about UIT turrets iirc but only from a few people.

I have to agree with Lecter on this one. Although it was fun being the first person to finish a Deneb run while Tri-KOS with turrets, it also made me fall a long way behind the other racers taking any possibility of winning out of the picture. The turrets CAN and WILL toast you while you warp in to a sector well before you even have control of your own ship if you do not give them time to time out.

So STFU ARF, you ever tried running around the universe while Tri-KOS? Thought not.
