36th Nation War

RULES:

1) As far as ships and weapons go, only two weapons are banned: Chaos Swarm Missiles and Locust Swarm Missiles. This is done to recognize the "beep effect" in combat, ie scaring your opponent with all the target lockon alerts.

2) No running for obcene distances. This is subjective, but honestly.. I'll call it if you go out beyond 3,000 meters of anyone. This rule is flexible and bendable, but do not abuse it.
Better guide, don't go outside of the asteroid field.

3) Once you are dead, you are out. You may return to watch in an EC class ship, but must announce this over sector comm.

4) Once you leave the sector you are out. This means no repairing at a station, no reloading and no jumping out to jump back in when your team wins.

5) The prize is two million credits, split among the qualifying survivors ONLY! If you have broken a rule above but have survived, don't expect to get credits.

6) The Nation War event will be at a new location this week (yet to be decided), at the time of 9pm GMT (8pm GMT during Daylight Savings Time) on Sundays between three teams, each team representing a nation (that's 3:00pm Central time).

7) Team leaders are participants in the event, who represent their team when I speak to them. I expect them to be honest.

8) Things may change due to unavoidable circumstances. Always follow the instructions of Omega 0.

9) If a participant is hated by their own nation, they have may go on any of the teams (including their nation's team) so long as they are A) Liked by that nation (Ignore if you join your own nation's team) and B) Announce it beforehand, to myself and/or the participants. This keeps everyone in the know.

10) No interfering with playability in the War sector. this includes (but is not limited to): Cargo drops

Standings:

Itani - 16 wins
Serco - 7 wins
UIT - 11 wins

The event is hosted at a new time, see above.

err... UIT won. ...yeah...

You've all heard that ridiculous stance from the BDC not to participate on an "event made up by an Itani and run by an ITAN member"?

Man, but those guys are coming with pretty original ways to justify not attending. I guess they'd rather be thought dinks that be pwned every weekend.

Cripes people. It's not an RP event. It just gives us an opportunity to get lots of people together and have a large battle for fun in an otherwise sparsely populated universe. It's not organized "against" anybody. Fun, large scale wars like these would not exist if they were not organized by someone. If a serco wants to organize it and be the one to hand out 2mil in prize money every week, I'm sure Omega would gladly let them.

The reason UIT and Itani sometimes gang up on the Serco is because half of you fly Proms, which invite ganking.

Congratulations to the UIT for winning the 36th Nation War!

The standings are now

Itani - 16 wins
Serco - 7 wins
UIT - 12 wins

The way it's usually worked is the team that has the most players gets ganked. Unfortunately, there's no reliable way to keep people from making alliances and such in those situations, though I think it would be tremendously more fun to truly have a 3 way battle without any nation alliances.

As for the prom thing, they do make it difficult. The reason being that proms are incredibly dangerous if ignored, so everyone usually makes them their first priority. If a prom sneaks up on you, it can waste you in a matter of seconds. Therefore, people feel safer engaging them first and keeping them where they can see them. I'm not saying it's impossible to win a nation war in a prom, but you should be aware that proms draw a lot of attention and plan accordingly.

After the numbers I saw last time, I don't think there's much room for Itani or UIT to be getting sand in their vaginas over a pair of SCPs.

[EDIT] Last one I saw, and first one I bothered to show up for, had 4 serco. One IDF Valk, 2 SCPs and one non-prom whatever it was ship. UIT numbers were well over 10, Itani appeared around 7 or 8.

That being said, [BDC] are all clearly morons. I encourage the shooting of them on sight.[/EDIT]

I agree lecter last one i was at had 7 UIT, 5 iTani, 4 Serco. 2 of us were in SCP and the other 2 were in prom 2s. All the iTanis were in valks or IBGs. Turned out UIT were attcking us while we were attacking the iTani's. quite frankly I've seen people say SCP's can take out 2 players but that ratio is about 3 to our 1. Fair nooooo

Ghost: the last couple of times it's been us that are being attacked first while we have less numbers then either side.

Good show chaps, good fight and see you next Sunday ;)

Everyone gets attacked at the same time. Last week I can assure you I had UIT on me from the very beginning. Just because some attack you doesn't mean you're the only one being attacked.

@Lecter: We're not getting "sand in our vaginas" as you so wonderfully put it. We're not complaining at all. I couldn't care less what the other teams choose to fly. What I'm saying is, if someone chooses to fly a SCP, they should be aware that they're going to draw a lot of attention and should expect without a doubt to be attacked first. No pilot with half a brain would turn their back on a SCP in a furball. This may be the reason that Serco feel like they are getting attacked first all the time. They fly the ships that pose the largest threat.

Translation from Moron into English:

"Stop using big words to make arguably correct points! I don't like that, even though I have nothing to back up my feeling!"

"Ghost STFU!

Stop acting like you know everything plz.
I am bored to read your cheap excuses about anything."

Im so happy to see Ayn is back to his old manners.
It makes RP forum alive again.
Oct 18, 2006 Dr. Lecter link
Dear Ayn,

The fact that your dime whore of a mother whelped offspring indicates that I possess balls. Ayn... I AM YOUR FATHER!

Now, you go right ahead and knock your standing down I can get back to the cycle of Lecter shoots Ayn, Ayn loses armor, Ayn finally runs like a typical Frenchie.
Oct 18, 2006 Shapenaji link
uh, Ayn? That's not a comeback...
Oct 18, 2006 Ghost link
If you don't want to fight in the nation war, then don't come to the nation war. I really don't see what the issue is.
Oct 18, 2006 Dark Knight link
Okay, time to tackle "Nya13 Nya13 Can't Catch Me's" comments in order.

-------------------

Your ridiculous excuse to make a coalition in this sucky WAR EVENT is the reason why i don't participate.

If you don't participate, why complain? I doubt ANYONE here is begging you to "fight".

you have an excuse to gank Serco!
we have an excuse to not participate!

Idiot, if you're flying through a formation of Hive bots in a Behemoth, and you're taking heavy fire, do you shoot your Swarms off at the Orun Collector (that's firing maybe once every five seconds) or the Aputech Guardian (which is pouring a steady stream of fire into your engines)?

1) SCP is our best Ship.
remove the valkyrie and maybe i will participate.

Okay, we're not trying to get Proms kicked out. We just target them first. It's not our fault you don't do the same for Valkyries.

2) UIT should not be in WAR
a UIT player should choose a side at start.

Last time I checked, the Union of Independent Territories was a nation... Remind me what the name of this event was again?

PS:
Dear Dr Moron when will you drop your serco standing?
Do you have balls? Proove it!

Ah, yes, because we all know that will change so much.

--------------

Now, I believe the real reason Ayn doesn't participate is because he thinks the rules are ridiculous. I've used my amazing insight to deduce which ones (in italics), and I even followed each rule up with an amazing Ayn-O-Vision analysis, telling (with proper grammar, nonetheless!) what exactly is wrong with each one!

1) As far as ships and weapons go, only two weapons are banned: Chaos Swarm Missiles and Locust Swarm Missiles. This is done to recognize the "beep effect" in combat, ie scaring your opponent with all the target lockon alerts.

Obviously, anything that bans swarms is going to be boycotted by Ayn and his high level of morality. Banning swarms is a clear infringement upon his right to be a ganking little punk!

2) No running for obcene distances. This is subjective, but honestly.. I'll call it if you go out beyond 3,000 meters of anyone. This rule is flexible and bendable, but do not abuse it.
Better guide, don't go outside of the asteroid field.

This one's also a major problem, since his favorite battle tactic to use in honorable combat is to fly waaay out, wait until his opponents get frustrated and give up, and then come blazing back into the fight for another two seconds until he gets hit again. Wash, rinse, repeat.

4) Once you leave the sector you are out. This means no repairing at a station, no reloading and no jumping out to jump back in when your team wins.

Cut him some slack here, since he's obviously handicapped -- Ayn is mentally incapable of commiting himself to a fight, especially now that repair costs are in effect, and as such should be the exception to the rules. No matter what.

10) No interfering with playability in the War sector. this includes (but is not limited to): Cargo drops

EDITED: But this wouldn't give him anything to blame his bad piloting on!
Oct 18, 2006 moldyman link
10) was instituted when genka dropped massive amounts of cargo to lag the sector.
Oct 18, 2006 Dark Knight link
Ohhhh.

I assumed cargo drops meant you couldn't fly in mid-war and salvage.
Oct 19, 2006 bojansplash link
Some people will never learn...
There is no reasoning with Ayn.

Just sit back, relax and enjoy.
