CHRN strongly advises all traders to ignore dinner invitations from BT while on CHRN-sanctioned business.

And lo! towards us coming in a boat
An old man, hoary with the hair of eld,
Crying: Woe unto you, ye souls depraved!
Finally.
'bout time somebody got the damn reference.
Hey, I got that a loooong time ago, so what the hell are you on about? :p
So did I... hell... (or Hades, though the two are not as interchangeable as people seem to think), its a reference to a myth from my culture/people.
I just thought that particular illustration/translation from Inferno was apt. Please, please tell me that nobody had any confusion about Kharon/Charon as a general matter. Because that would make them fucking retarded.
And yes, Tartarus/Hades is quite different from the Christian Hell. For starters, Hades generally thought of as cold, whereas only the very deepest circles of Hell are cold. I think many prior conceptions of damnation and the underworld were also cold--maybe the Christans were burned alive enough to think of fire as the more unpleasant eternity? For the more primitive peoples, at least those North of the more temperate climates, I imagine that constant, bone-cracking cold was the more universal pain suffered while alive.
Plus there's that whole Elysium thing. Leave it to the Christians to come up with a binary, bifurcated afterlife.

Oh I got the reference immediately, however, it's more fun to "forget" the name and call you guys [CORN] or [CHUM]. FAR more entertaining in my book...
Please tell me you're a trader these days, LeberMeat.
I'll be your huckleberry.
(Now name THAT reference... no fair googling)

Dude, it's Val Kilmer's best role.
That would be Doc Holliday played by Val Kilmer in Tombstone and I did not have to google it, living with someone that adores the old west and especially Doc..comes in handy it seems :D. You can toss out any line from that movie and he can do the follow-up and tell you whats going on in the scene...lol.
yea that was a good movie
"Dude, it's Val Kilmer's best role."
Agreed. Great movie too... Even made reference to Doc Holiday's animosity towards Dirty Dave Rudabaugh... who was not in the movie. It is rumored that Rudabaugh taught Holiday how to use a pistol in exchange for being taught the finer points of cards.
Dirty Dave Rudabaugh was portrayed amusingly though inaccurately in Young Guns II. He is rumored to be the only person Billy the Kid ever feared, though according to a failed book by Pat Garret, the two were actually good friends.
Way off topic, but Dirty Dave Rudabaugh is my all time favorite outlaw of that time period.
