A reminder:

"The Vendetta Online forums exist to promote the healthy, positive interaction of our game's community, providing a means for players to give constructive feedback and make suggestions about the game, plan for Events, and other topics.

These forums do not exist to provide a place for people to level nasty, personal attacks against other individuals or guilds.

They also do not exist as a place to level public accusations of cheating or "raise public awareness" of possible game exploits or violations in policy: These issues should be addressed privately to the developers via Support Tickets, which will be investigated in the extensive game-server logs. The reality is that there are too many dramatic people, with dramatic accusations (which usually prove to be unfounded), to allow every single case to turn into a flame-war that continues burning and harming the community for months or years to come."

So you are going to delete entire threads that are RP instead of removing just the offending posts?

If that is the case there are at least 10 more pages worth of RP threads that need to be deleted as well.

Dec 06, 2016 Whistler link
The threads that I deleted had little to no RP left once edited. I did find another thread that needed addressing - hadn't gotten down the list to that one yet.

"Enforcement and Escalation

The forum administrators are VOLUNTEERS, doing their best to enforce the guidelines WE give them, please don't blast them for giving their spare time, for free, to try and make the game forums a more pleasant place. Administering the forums of this game is like trying to bathe a house-cat: it's a great way to get scratched and mauled without any personal benefit. Admins don't even get free game accounts or anything else, they just get to deal with grumpy people all the time. Not super fun.

If you have a problem with Policy, bring it up with us (the developers) in a Support Ticket, because we're the ones who actually define what the Forum Admins are doing. Don't blame them for executing the policies that we define."

Also please review Section 1.1, #5 of the ROC, which you violated with your (removed) comment.

Why was the thread about Blaqk's dent exploding removed from RP when it was in fact RP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just curious about your anwser before 20 people send in a ticket about it.

HAHAH Blaqk you should invite Whistler to your shitty guild.

Thank you, I'll be sure to change the way I use the forums and in game communications to set the prime example of what should be.

Sure you will.

Also i want all the threads deleted that have any ONE members in kill logs thanks Whistler.

I'm not an expert, but surely trying to guide the community is a better way to approach these issues than trying to hide the community?

I get that muting players is a pretty big step, but right now, it feels like the only downside to behaving poorly in the forums is that no-one will know that you made a post. Maybe just start editing in some

Thanks for asking. I was busy squelching a lot of drama and that thread had gotten contaminated with non-RP accusations and personal attacks. In the interest of time I moved it out of circulation, but I have since had a chance to go back and edit it. I have restored it.

For the record: I haven't taken sides - I like you all about the same ;)

Thank you for bringing back the thread.

I didn't really have the time to put this question into words that might not get deleted last night. But I slept on it, and here it is. Wish me luck.

If a player says things that ever a twelve year old call-of-duty player would think of as crossing the "clearly racist" line, would it be inappropriate to bring that up at a later date?

What about if a player spends multiple posts on homophobic rants fueled by ignorance and alt-right blogs? Would it also be inappropriate to bring that up?

What if a player has, in the past, been punished for cheating and isn't shy about how justified he feels it was for him to mine PKs off of a separate account? Is that also an inappropriate thing to mention?

What if a player spent the last decade pointlessly aggravating other players? Would that be an appropriate thing to occasionally make reference to?

Does calling these players racist, homophobes, cheaters and trolls count as a "nasty, personal attacks" against these players or against the guild they all happen to be members of?

If calling these players nasty things like that is off limits, what do you propose the players that don't want to see racists, homophobes, cheaters and trolls take over the VO forums do? If I'm supposed to feel bad about my way of trying to improve the community, what is a better way?

edit:
On re-reading, this is a super-dramatic post. Sorry. I don't really care as much as it might seem based on the above. But I am a little sad to see the way things are going.
If the appropriate solution is to just turn off the chat and shoot newbs, then so be it. See you guys in b8.

genka, please read the guidelines that Whistler referred to and quoted from. It answers all your questions. You basically wasted your time writing that post...
Dec 07, 2016 Whistler link
Genka: As Sieger points out, the answers to both of your posts in this thread are answered in the "Be Nice" thread I linked to at the top. Usually we do not announce thread mutes and larger mutes , so I can see how one might think we don't do more.

You are not expected to "feel bad" about dealing with behavior in the way that you want - you are simply forbidden to do so if it does not comply with the rules outlined in the "Be Nice" rules. If you would like to help then please do so by sending in tickets to the devs when you encounter the behaviors you mentioned. Also consider how your own behavior impacts the atmosphere here. Doing something like posting "[User was muted for 2 days due to this post]" is not helpful. You should have a look at the ROC regarding that.

When I saw your posts I was expecting your often witty and insightful way of making us see the folly of our actions. I was disappointed.

VO forums look like "Hello Kitty Online" compared to in-game chat and genka was unusually kind in his post.
May I humbly suggest that, from time to time, you log in game and turn your eyes to ch 100?

Here is just a random sample pick I've seen when I logged on IRC:

Bojan: I am on as frequently as I can be. Last night mostly featured deer hunting discussions.

But, we're talking about forum behavior - which needs to change. And again, you are part of the problem by posting such things rather than filling out a ticket as we have repeatedly asked.
