Well I know several of you out there wanted some sort of communication so that you can cap flags and take down enemies in groups by just talking so you don't waste your time typing. It has been tested several times over and seems to work great only down side is there still isn't a mac version. Not yet anyhow...

Teamspeak is www.teamspeak.org
The server is currently 4.62.96.237

If you want to speak and stuff like that I'll register you if we are on at the same time or if we are not say in here that you want your name added say on here or e-mail me starfreeze@starfreeze.com. You can just listen too if you're on there. This is also a way for you to listen to the duels that are setup through the dueling system which will be back in use within a week of the 3.2 release.

Hey, a couple of questions:

1) How would "team-only" chat be managed?
2) Can the Linux client talk to the Windowz server and vice versa?
3) Is is Open Sourced, and can the devs steal it for Vendetta?

Yeah, but for some reason the site is taking many minutes to load over my cable connection. Highly annoying.

Both can talk to each other...there is a blue-nation channel already...later on I will set up red nation and gold nations and then create other channels based on your asking.

No the devs can't steal it or so I've heard that it isn't open source.

The site is usually very quick but sometimes they are slow.

Good... Now, when do you go to your house and tell us the ip?
Apr 03, 2003 ctishman link
No, it's not GPL'd, but they are working on a Mac version port. Y'know, if we could get the two teams in contact with each other...

the linux client is useless unless you have hardware mixing. It hogs /dev/dsp and so does vendetta do its impossible to have sound in both.

And dont even suggest crap like artsdsp/esddsp.

now if the devs used the api teamspeak provides and made it mix with the game software mixing....

Hey, can anyone even make this work? I can recieve fine, but I can't seem to send. It's weird, because what I say is echoed from my computer's speakers like a megaphone. However, nothing is transferred. Card is a SB Live!.

yeah rogue, I can send and recieve

Rogue> I could figure this out if I knew the OS, but off the bat it sounds like your output for your mic is in the wrong port. I would suggest testing your mic with voice commands or something. Also check to make sure that your drivers are all setup correctly.

Like I said, I can hear myself amplified over the speakers. It's linux, and nothing BUT the speakers seems to be recieving the input.

OS: Gentoo Linux 1.4
Sound Card: SoundBlaster Live! Value
Sound subsystem: ALSA with OSS compatibility
Sound Module: [snd-]emu10k1

rogue, is it only in TC or everywhere? like does

cat /dev/dsp > mic.raw
cat mic.raw > /dev/dsp

work? if not, maybe you need to unmute the capture channel in alsamixer and make sure make sure that both mic and capture channels is selected for capture

I'm up and running with TeamSpeak on Mandrake 9, OSS drivers, an SBLive! Value and a cheap lil TriGem PC mic.

The only adjustment I had to make to get the whole thing to work was to disable the aRts daemon (KDE sound wrapper) from running. I found the info on how to disable it in the FAQ section of the TS site's forums.

Join in the convo!

<edit> I also got it to work with a headset speaker/mic with the headset speaker output hooked to the front channel and the PC speaker output hooked to the rear channel.

Hey, I got it to work on my WinXP Laptop. I'll just have to use that while I work on the desktop.
