Don't worry, I'll show up with a barrel of popcorn kernels and a modified potato cannon to keep them at bay.
We should SO have a paintball event. Red paint for serco, yellow paint for UIT and blue paint for itani.
And NO FF rules to hold us back!
When I used to code for a certain MUD back in 1989-1995, we eventually got the idea to have a "convention" like this, and we actually pulled it off, and it was a great success. That success has been repeated many years over.
The first time out of the gate, we held things at the devs' home base (I was a "dev" then so it sounded like a good idea to me). Only about 15 people showed up. It was great -- we drank beers and ate pizza and talked about the game. Some of those people are still involved with coding or storytelling on that MUD, and even though I don't play or code there anymore, I still contribute artwork and stories.
It's a chance to form pretty serious attachments. Go for it!
