Nice bit of kit devs and very amusing, but please can you drop the ammo cost a little bit. :D

where r these xx concussion launchers?
Jul 18, 2007 Lord~spidey link
they were very hard to get the devs took em out fer no reason they cost like 500k now

ok :(

Um, no. Spidey's thinking of the Corvus Widowmaker, which WAS removed. The Xang-Xi concussion launcher is available through a mission that sends you around the place mining a variety of ores.

And the "no reason" for removing the widowmaker was a fairly vitriolic community blasting over the pointlessness of the weapon and difficulty of the mission.

Note: Yes, I'll look at reducing the cost of concussion launcher ammo.

what was this widowmaker, may i ask?

A useless weapon that was given in reward for an obnoxiously difficult (relative to the reward) mission. I sold a pair to Swagman if you want to buy some.

To translate from Lecterspeak:

A slightly modified Neutron Blaster Mark Three that was given in reward for collect-ten-queen-processor-cores (I think...) mission.

[EDIT]: Blasters which you didn't get access to, you just got two in hand.

Also, to clarify what incarnate means by a "fairly vitriolic community blasting", he means Lecter being his usual self: a self-serving, insult-slinging bastard with nothing better to do than to be an ******* to everyone else in the community.

MSKanaka, on the other hand, has never ever been spotted saying anything bad about anyone :-P

What's the actual mission for the XX Conq called? "Rush job"?
Jul 19, 2007 MSKanaka link
Since when did I ever imply that, Demonen? Besides, given how much time Lecter spends flaming newbies on the forums, I wouldn't be surprised if he took it as a compliment.

And yeah, I think "Rush Job" was the name of the mission.
Jul 19, 2007 davejohn link
Yes the mission is called "Rush job " . It requires small quantities of a variety of ores and goods, and tests the players knowledge of ore locations . As such it is a good example of the kind of more advanced mission that hopefully the background changes that the devs have made recently will make more common in space.

The conc mine launcher is a fun weapon to play with, and the ammo costs less than a decent deep fried mars bar in Nyrius.....

I think given the limited access we get to it (similar to the situation with the widowmakers, however the Rush Job mission is far, far easier to complete) perhaps it could be... I dunno, beefed a bit? Higher ammo capacity?

If the Rush Job mission was meant as part of a tree, then I can wait until more of the missions come out for something like that to happen.

Now now, Manharu. I hardly have any time for a proper flaming O' teh noob these days.

Moreover, I seriously doubt my lil' ole vitriol would have been enough to cause Inc. to yank a mission. Could it be that others might have agreed with me? Horror of horrors!

Lecter, I have to admit, sometimes you are pretty damn funny.
Usually when I disagree with you, but that makes it more fun.

Back on topic, I see absolutely no reason to temporarily change a weapon to "beef it up", only to nerf it when the real mission tree is in place.

I voted to keep the widow maker mission live, as is. You get two widowmakers for the mission. The are not as good as a law enforcement neutron blaster.

I have one xx conc launcher. it has 3 of 4 ammo left. i'm not going to pay the 100k to reload it.

"sometimes you are pretty damn funny"

Oh, for the love of God, don't encourage him.
Jul 21, 2007 Dr. Lecter link
Ha. As if I require external reinforcement.

Protip: Dr. Lecter has been filled with rebar since birth.
