I'll start.

I really enjoy the changes that have been made to the conquerable stations.

The new flak-cannon turret looks sweet :)

Love it.

Preemptive feedback... Inc said something about new ships or new skins for the really ugly ones, like the Rag and such.

I am certain that it will be a vast improvement.

Thanks all.

We have an art intern who's actually quite good, I was going to have him look at doing some new textures for one of the ships. Was supposed to get him the assets last week. Too busy. Monday meeting though, I'll aim for that. Will consider the Rag, although I think I'd rather replace that entire ship.. and have "alternate skins" for ones we're more likely to keep.

Don't you even think about touching the Hound/Hog.

Unless you want to give us an all matte-black Hound :D

I wouldn't replace the existing hog texture, this would be in addition. Kind of like the Vulture thing I did in November. We could have another "variant" that had a unique look, and give it some interesting stats. That sort of thing.

I like the Race Stats, and I'm determined to win one.

If there is one complaint I've never heard, it's 'oh wow, there's too many ship choices'. So don't remove the old ships, just add the others as new ships nearly statistically identical to the older ones.

I'll use the Rag for example, I'll just call it's replacement the Towel for right now.

In barracks and capitol stations, both the rag and the Towel will be available.
In research and commercial stations, only the newer towel is available.
In mining stations, only the older rag is available.

The only difference I'd make would be in costs. The Towel has been made cheaper to manufacture, so lower purchase price. The Rag, being of an older design, is cheaper to repair due to there being TONS of parts floating around. Maybe change around the weapon port locations too.

Something like that would actually be a net addition of content, unlike the change from the wraith to the revenant.

I honestly don't understand how you devs are still alive after doing so much continuous work with little breaks. Conquerable stations are very fun and change the points of interest ingame from just "b8 and deneb" to a few new systems.
I'd totally do random gruntwork for you guys for free if I had the skills. :(

Currently, We (CLM) only bother with the stations occasionally, and mostly just to do something. I'd much rather have traders to pirate.

So, starting with multiplataform support, it's great.

The constant improvements, considering the Guild size, keeps a very good pace. Release early, release often, continuous improvements! That's the proven best way to go when you are small.

Compared to other companies I know, Inc has Job's Patience, and he's a diplomat. For much less most other companies have banned players. So thanks again.

Another positive side is that Forums are civilized now!

and now it seems we are in a raising moment, after a low valley that was portable VO start. I even fell motivated again, as I clearly see things improving.

Dynamic warfare in Deneb! That was great!

And I am amazed that you have kept it all together guys, this should have been vaporware ages ago! Thanks for letting us play your game!

P.S.
Can i be a collector bot? Its a good idea... you know it is... just saying...

Your posting this sentence has confirmed its lack of truth.

Lets see...
1) The ability for players to optimize their experience via binds and plugins on their own or produced by the community.
2) The border skirmishes are fun and now provide enough reward for players to actually grow credits at a modest rate rather than lose them.
3) Ongoing development of all areas of gameplay.
4) Capture the flag was damned fun. It would be nice to see that implemented as a weekly event.
5) A kick ass combat system.
6) Dynamic Hive.
7) Rare drops for farming.

I love VO, and my current lack of in-game presence (I'm still subbed, if I recall correctly) is only due to the fact that I haven't unlocked all Steam achievements in Torchlight.

What I like and can actually say something about with some kind of certainty is that the devs are still very much on the pulse of the community. This need not necessarily be so, it just shows their almost angelic patience with the user-base, and also their level of commitment.

Someone predicted a much darker future, where the devs would be much more out of touch, half a decade or so ago. Luckily, that did not come to pass.

"Will consider the Rag, although I think I'd rather replace that entire ship"

Inc... just curious, will the Rag still be available or at least the ones that I have?
Jul 30, 2010 MonkRX link
If the rag is replaced soon, I would assume it would receive the same fate as the original EC-88 "Bus" did. Anyone who has it keeps it, and it will no longer be for purchase.

If you're replacing the rag, let me know in a newsletter :P ... I might subscribe and stock up just for that XD (Instanuke Rag ftw).

I still purchase the ec88, all hail unlocking!
