Screenshots of the Capship Station minus fog
First, a sense of scale is needed. Reference Slime's image over here to see how big the docking area is compared to a Trident:

That is one docking bay. Now, for your viewing pleasure, here are some images of the overall installation, without fog. Note that the installation is so large that it would not fit within the clipping region, so it is actually larger than it appears in the images - if you look closely in some of the deeper images you can see where it gets cut off.

Yup, over 25 kilometers long!
It looks like something the borg would make.
TRON!!!
Now when can we destroy it?
Now when can we destroy it?
Again, this is not a station, that is known as the BORGTRON Shipyards... the future TPG's capship factory for civilian pilots! Soon YOU too will be able to own a Trident from TPG!
By the way, as Inc states in dump0014.png, that is supposed to be the largest installations in universe.
I was the one asking more frequently for larger stations, and this one totally satisfies my needs. Mabe only UIT Capitals in Dau should also be that large, everything else smaller.
Going OT...
That leads me that we really need to adjust stations size, like S,M,L, and relate the type and volume of NPC/Voys traffic to it...

Dude that thing is sick!
I motion we christen it BORGTRON Shipyards.

Actually, I didn't say that at all. I said the current station is definitely on the upward side of the scale of stations in Freespace 2.
I have not placed any upward limit on how large or complex anything in the game will be. It's limited far more by technical and business considerations than it is by my imagination.
Also, these modules are predominately for "industrial" and "shipyard" type locations. Kind of like when people talk about "San Francisco Harbor" they don't necessarily imagine this. "Station-cities" will be quite different, but I need some technical changes to go into place before I can realize that, otherwise the sector load time will be excessive.
Anyway, glad some people like it :). It'll be cooler looking once we finish the detail textures and potentially add in some new shaders for these kinds of objects.

Awesome pics. As it is, the station has a certain cel-shaded comic-book appeal to it, like something in DC comics. I don't mean that in a bad way at all. However, it will fit in better when the details and lights are on it.
That is in San Francisco Bay, but the cargo cranes are at the Port of Oakland. I mention this only because I can see them from where I live and where I work - I'm not kibitzing. George Lucas says they did not inspire the AT-AT.

Just so long as the shipyard that inevitably gets built in Dau is named the TPG Aroan Megaplex.

Please do add more fog in that sector so we cannot see anything beyond 10 meters : )
Devs: Please produce a scale drawing of one of these stations in relation to a well-known landmark, such as:
size of capship station as compared to the Death Star
or
size of capship station as compared to Manhattan
or
size of capship station as compared to Dr. Lecter's ego.
Thank You in Advance.

What is the size of
the lone neuron in Alloh's brain, compared

My whole brain, with many more neurons than one, compares to infinty as the usefullness of lelecter's posts compares to his politeness and knowledge of physics...
Back on topic, some scale comparison chart, or at least some stats on new shipyard, would be great!
Suggestion, add a fake/empty regular station in the middle of shipyard, just like that empty station stuck inside the maze in sedina.

Alloh, you're an idiot....

politeness and knowledge of physics is supposed to be in place of infinity. You just complimented lecter, idiot.

Alloh's whole brain : Infinity :: usefulness of my posts : politeness/knowledge of physics
The Analogies section of the SAT would not have been kind to Alloh.
I do know enough of physics to know that the best response to Alloh's last post is This isn't right. This isn't even wrong!
