New Deneb Stats online

Jan 17, 2012 incarnate link
If you reload the site, you should see the new Deneb Stats on the sidebar. These were implemented roughly along the lines of the suggestions post from a month ago. They were a little more complicated to implement than originally anticipated, but we're happy to have them online.

Please keep in mind, this is a first-generation version, we expect to improve and expand them moving forward. There were a couple of areas in the original Suggestions version that were left out for the moment, but we still have those ticketed for future addition.

Also, we will be making an effort to tie together our general "Character Stats" a bit more effectively. Right now we have a lot of disparate data spread all over the site. It would be nice to have most of this unified into a single informational screen for the given character, with links out to all the other places where more information can be found.

Excellent!

Maybe add also player Deaths?

And some simple graphic, overlapping Player Participation X Winning team?

Next, it makes sense for me and other vets, but Casualities and Kills can be confusing for outsiders, so a simple pop-up explanation for each field / column would be nice.

Then a reduced version of this info should be accessible in-game. Can you import this page into in-game news, automated?

One last suggestion, make things cleaner and add a sub-page for Statistics, reducing menus on most pages... same could happen to 'game information'

anyway, grats!

Holy crap this rocks! Thank you!

If we think of any cool things to add or change we'll do so on the Suggestions board.

Kierky: That's because your browser is caching the old version of the sidebar. If normal reloading doesn't refresh it, try holding shift while you reload. That forces it to reload without using the cache, in Firefox anyway. Other browsers might have a different procedure.

A welcome addition, thanks devs .

um, are they working properly? or am I reading them wrong? Currently the Itani hold 60+ sectors and the Serco 50+ but the stat page says 46 Itani and 26 Serco...

Yeah I saw it after an amount of time anyway. And I'm using Chrome.

The stats count the weekly scheduled skirmishes whereas the lua script counts aligned sectors including roid turret systems

so... the score IS NOT the score? Are the war voys sent out based on aligned sectors or weekly scheduled skirmishes? Do they include the 3 Itani stations as aligned sectors?

the map is a better and better idea. We fence-sitting cheerleaders can't pay attention long enough to look at stats. Go Blue! Go Red! Go Red! Go Blue! oh look! a shiny object!

The score on the current page does count turret-kill-initiated skirmishes; what it's not counting are skirmishes that are wholly emulated because one of that type was already running when it was scheduled to happen (which does change the map).

I've just made several changes to the code (not yet deployed) including making the score reflect the map's count (though I'm still not listing the emulated skirmishes in the already-long 'Skirmishes' section).

I agree that a map with clickable (or tooltip-style) stats would be nice, but it's not the least time-consuming thing ever, and this page has already taken a lot longer than expected.

Instead of a complex graphical maps and HTML zone mapping or other gizmo, make a simple trable (matrix) exactly 8x8, and inside each cell print the colored result for that sector.

Quite easy to automate, even using shell script to generate the html...

{ Src F(2x0)}{Itn M(0x1)}{Src Undisp}{station}{*WH*} ...

Nice stats page

Clickable map sounds like a lot of work and exactly as you mentioned a lot of clicking and looking at sector info too.

I like the html stats page but wish I could tell when the start date/time and end date/ times actually occur.

Another feature that might be cool is do it monthly instead of weekly where you can reset sectors and dispute claimed territories that have already been won/lost.
Perhaps a feature to reset a sector where you have several turrets and 1 Trident for each sector. This way serco or itani can also use those won sectors to reload in local fleet and back to the ongoing war front.
However itani or serco should not be allowed to dock at these tridents unless nation matches no matter what the faction standing is.
What do you think ?

However, this could cause some to go chase those sectors being tested and also spread out all over deneb to fight the war on several fronts and partical fronts.

Anyhow just thinking of something that might give reason to want to reset or turret kill in order to get any benifit other then just a X in the win column

Brings me to the question, Is there any real benifit in resetting the sector and turret killing other then a X in the win column of the vo deneb stats page ?
This does not have any effect on the blockade topic I assume ?

Please advise
Thanks
