*** Vendetta 1.8.281
- Player-owned capships now have shields that work the same way as NPC capship shields.
- Ships stored in capships can now have their ammo refilled by the capship owner without having to launch and dock with the capship.

Yes, most likely. I wanted these changes to stabilize before potentially complicating things with more variations.

I like the implementation of the shields they are strong enough that mild bot encounters don't force you to stop for repair but low enough that player encounters in the current state of population can still be dangerous

This will of course fall under "suggestions" but:

Shadowhawke brings up the game of chicken so many people have played regarding committing to a Type M build while variants are looming. What if the path to a Type S or Type P is actually a modification of an already built Type M? Or, at least ONE of the paths to those variants is a modification mission rather than "from scratch" or other method you may have in mind?

Manufacture the Trident Type S
You will need:
1 Trident Type M
1 Siepos Master Computer
1 Siepos Sensor array
2 80MW Pulse-Displacement Engines (going by the teaser pic that had 4 total)
…maybe a few RBH &/or FFSA &/or FCP for hull alterations, but not too much
…maybe a few sundries, but nothing painful to obtain
...maybe 10 or 20 Million credits labor

You will receive:
1 Trident Type S
1 Milanar Master Computer (if you are feeling kind)
1 Milanar Sensor Array (ditto)

I know there are a few people sitting on complete kits. A word from devs might get them to build now :)

if the Type M and Type S are close to each other material/component wise, the insurance mission can give you a choice when you go to replace

But CDs idea is better
