Where is the proper area of the forum where newcomers and veterans alike (especially newcomers) can ask questions about the game? General discussion category? Bugs category? Should there be a category dedicated to questions and answers about gameplay only, that are not bug/fix issues? This would be very helpful to newcomers who are learning the game.

I'm loving this game after learning what the game is about, which was rough at first. The only turn-off I've had with VO, is those accusing me of spam, of which I have not done. The asking of questions about Vendetta OnLine on the VO forum is spam? Really? What is not spam on the VO forum? The selling of Girl Scout cookies? Am I to just hit up the Devs who are busy developing whenever a question comes up?

In that I hate spam myself, real internet spam as seen in email inboxes and blasted all over Facebook, the false accusations are extremely offensive.

General is fine.

You do realize that if you keep complaining about people complaining about you spamming, they're going to start calling you other things instead? Relax already.

They (one in particular) already have called me other things in the chat room. There have been others as well in the chat room who seem to be unwilling to let this non-issue go (Was brought up again last night...). When I thought this was over, making an effort to reduce posts on the forum, trying to move on, it seems to have made its way to the chat room. That's the reason for this post. It's irritating.

I will follow your advise, Pizzasgood.

From now on, I will ignore those who do not know the definition of spam and who try to mold the forum to be what they personally desire it to be of which has not been clearly defined by those who criticize.

I will relax and consider this case closed...

It's irritating.

Again RAB, Sry about that. I was just making a joke based upon your own self-conscious comment here. Keep playing and posting, you have a long way to go before you've posted as many useful questions or comments as the forum trolls have posted useless or derogitory ones.
To be more helpful to your OP question tho, check out www.vo-wiki.org and fly safe. :)

Intern Lecter:

" Poor baby"...

No longer playing the game.
Sits back and haunts the forum.
A true example of a 'use to be'.

RABII

Complaining about people abusing you and then rattling Lecter's cage is over the top. I'm not buying this at all.

No apologies...

One simple comment regarding (only) in-game chat:

If someone is bothering you,

/ignore "player name"

is your friend. If you feel someone is being truly odious, you also have

/vote mute "player name"

It is not recommended that you start vote mute campaigns. Also be sure to use

/buddy invite "player name"

for those you agree with. Lastly, for no reason at all, here is a verse from the Tao Te Ching:

"She who follows the way of the Tao will draw the world to her steps. She can go without fear of being injured, because she has found peace and tranquility in her heart."

/vote mute rabii

This troll has gone too far.

While it may be unusual given recent traffic volume, asking a number of sincere questions about the game in General isn't trolling. Anything after that I can't speak to, nor can I comment on recent in-game chat as I haven't logged on in a while.

Whistler may have some additional insight to the matter.

Inevitable:

Really? You have the nerve to say that, after what this forum has put a newcomer through? Destroying his reputation by calling him a spammer and now a troll before he even gets rolling, within his first month of subscription? And I am to not say anything? Unbelievable. Simply unbelievable.

Lecter has personally and publicly attacked me more than once. Others as well. Why? Because a newcomer asks questions because he's trying to grasp the concept of the game and has questions on gameplay itself?

I am one person and am not the problem. The problem is how veterans treat newcomers when the newcomer goes to the forum for answers, which is exactly what the developers instructed him to do. That's why I suggested a Questions/Answers section within the forum for newcomers where there would be no 'stupid' questions.

I was told that one of great things about this game is its people. That's not this newcomers experience. If you want this game simply set aside for veterans only, some of which don't even actually play the game anymore, keep doing what you're doing.

Over time, veterans will fade away. This games survival depends upon new subscribers. You should think about that.

Or, you can simply fire off another reputation destroying insult at me. You've made it clear that this is your game. The choice is yours.

RABBI, I fully support you. Really guys, lets not bash newcomers, all of us were at some point. If RABBI's style of writing is different, doesn't mean it is spam...

I noted the suggestion for a Q/A-specific forum, it's something I had considered as well, and we may look into that.

For the moment, General will suffice, and I'd appreciate it if vets make an extra effort to be nice to earnest newbies, and similarly that the newer people have a little patience with some of our cranky veteran players. Most of our people really are quite nice, but we have a few focal types who don't give the best impression. We do try to pay attention to this administratively, but we're a very small development team and unfortunately we miss some bad behaviour.

I think that about wraps up the goal of this thread.
