Crystal, how to get it.
Been playing around with crystal on a lite sub. I'm trying to figure out the best way to accumulate it. So far all I know is what doesn't work well.
Mining: I get no crystal for mining. I read in the chat that if at max mining level no crystal is awarded. I don't know if this is strictly true.
Botting. I get a crystal for each kill up until I've killed five bots, then nothing. The next day it again worked for five bots then nothing.
So.... what's the best approach? With the amount of Crystal I have I could never join a furball except for the first 4 deaths.

Crystal is currently awarded for leveling and botting (and perhaps certain badges/achievements). It is not specifically awarded for mining per-se, unless you're leveling in the mining license.
We're still experimenting with ways of handing out crystal, of course, and the amounts/limitations thereof. There'll be something like a "mission of the day" you can take to get a certain amount in addition to botting, etc. Perhaps a specific trade mission or trade-good of the day, a particular bounty that needs to be found, that kind of thing. A number of different avenues that could be pursued (or all of the above).
I may also just tie it to a fixed amount of each type of XP per day (combat, mining, trading, whatever), which scales with the player level.
Don't expect any method to be some kind of crystal-generating cornucopia. Given the player base's proclivities for optimizing and industrializing certain types of acquisition, obtaining crystal is likely to be pretty daily-session limited until I have some content where I can be confident there isn't a "mass-production" approach.
And the easiest way to acquire large quantities of crystal is through in-app-purchase ;).

Damnit .. I'm pretty sure there was no daily limit for kills before. I should have done more farming!
For me it stopped giving out chrystals after the tenth kill now. Either they changed the limit again or it's because I was shooting skirmish bots.

I haven't tried this for a few weeks now, so it might have been changed but this was it:
- I got 2 meth when mining for every 100? XP gained until I reached the level limit.
- 10 meth for every badge gained, I think
- When botting I hit a 300 meth limit. I first thought this was for every 24 hours but then tried again and figured it was for every 12 hours. However I then got bored by botting and didn't validate it. I did this in an Orun or Kannik sector in Dau and killed 300 bots in 30 minutes at the warp-in point.

I just hope that I'll be able to find these activities through some method, I'm not really concerned with what the activities are. They can change daily as long as it's not a long treasure hunt.
I guess I was just spoiled by the pre-crystal lite subscription. I'll get over it :)
