Leaving tridents docked at capital stations

May 17, 2015 Death Fluffy link
I noticed at Dau L10 while docked with my trident, that when I tried to select another ship that I was immediately stopped with the notification that I would have to purchase additional storage space, after which I looked and saw that my trident is 15,000 cu.

I don't have a problem with being forced to pay a rent for leaving my trident docked at a station. My question is is this intended behavior or something that merits discussion towards raising the storage limit, excluding the trident volume or exempting docked tridents.

I personally think this should be left alone. There should be a cost involved for most transactions in game and I think this is acceptable.

Any other thoughts?

I agree, there needs to be a reason to earn more credits. I vote to leave it as it is.

Original Latos M8 station also charges for trident storage, when the ship is anchored there. I don't see any controversy in it. You use a big ship, you take up more station space.

There is a somewhat related discussion happening on Suggestions right now, about pushing up the maximum-rented-storage requirements in stations, with the predominate feedback being to keep the rent charges.

In answer to the OP, we didn't look at the storage limits much when we shipped this on Fri night, but I did when I originally defined the Trident's docked usage a long time ago. So, yes, it's supposed to work this way. Capships have benefits, and tradeoffs.
