(See news post.)

w00t, good job guys! I hope I really *am* addicted with many sleepless nights as the PR says; I could use a good (and full, unlike the current test) MMORPG! :)

"Guild Software Inc. is a developer of quality on-line games, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA."

Bwahaha, they used the plural... :P

Good news, but would somebody please tell 'em that it'll be available for Mac and Linux also? I hope they don't make the same mistake on the box cover. This has the potential to lose some sales.

According to this page it's PC only. And the system requirements are still TBD. Unless something drastically changes within the next month or two, I think it's safe to say that both have already been determined by now.

GOOD Deal guys!!!

If it is released for PC only, there's somewhat of a chance that VP LTD(www.vp-ltd.com) would port/publish it. They seem to bring a lot of Strategy First's games to Mac. Hopefully. :/

Faster and easier though just for Guild to release it on all platforms...having an independant group port it after release means that they miss some sales simply by bad timing, some of the wouldbe Vendettans would've found other RPGs by then.

Incidentally, I am slightly confused anyway, wouldn't it be easier to skip publisher and have a DL basis here on site and then just charge people and those who don't pay or request shutdown are frozen and deleted after a certain amount of time?

Also, did I miss something where Vendetta will be a onetime payment to play (like StarCraft BattleNet) or will there be a monthly fee in addition to the software where the actual CD gets you something like "3 months free with purchase"? It doesn't compute with the marketing strategy I've seen and heard about thus far

We're not dumping mac and linux versions.

Subscriptions will be monthly as far as I know. I don't know the specifics about getting X months with purchase.

Strategy First is handling marketing, support, and retail.

The game will be available via channels other than retail as far as I know.

Via channels? Excuse my ignorance, but does that mean it'll be available for download as a trial as well? I was counting on not paying for a boxed version on top of a monthly fee. I think Incarnate also hinted on the possibility of longer term subscriptions with a discounted price.

I can see they're handling the marketing part splendidly. Best to have 'em change that before other gaming sites pick up the news and you're deluged with hate mail from the Mac-faithful.

What? A mac isn't a Personal Computer?

a mac is a PC, most people just associate that term with windows machines. (the power of Microsofts marketing campaign)

Yea, but it's safe to assume that when they say "PC" they mean "Windows".
