Thats is the question ?
But if it is a full reset , Arolte request with the dev which they give you the level 12
As that you will be able to continue to kill one player 15 times of continuation in one 1/2 hour.
are you beta tester or are you beta killer or are_olte

I'm sorry AlienB, but to post in this thread you must have consumed at least 6 pints of very strong ale, within 30 minutes of your post.

Ummmm... erm...
*me reads through Tertior's post a dozen times*

... um... I AGREE!

Alright, here's a translation of Tertior's post. I think I've got it quite right:

Reset or No Reset - That is the Question.
If it shall be a full reset, Arolte requests from the developers that they give him level 12 in all Combat, Light Weapons, Heavy Weapons and Trading & Commerce. With such an insanely high level, and 90% of the players being in EC-88s, Arolte will be able to to repeatedly destroy a quite defenseless player <insert very high number here> in <insert very little time here>, not giving the victim any chance whatsoever to escape.

.. are you a beta tester of a beta griefer, Arolte?

EDIT: Umm.. this still doesn't make very much sense. Dang!

Erm, sorry for the triple-post, but I discovered something which might uncover the cryptic meaning of Tertior's post!

"P S sorry FM for the flamme"

It's a flame! It's a flame obviously directed to Arolte. Apparently, Tertior is very tired of Arolte griefing him, and thus makes this ironic post, as so many have done before him (*sigh*). Salute me, I am the Prophet!

I understood Tertior's post the first time I read it. Anyone that knows Arolte would have understood. :-)

Nah - I know Arolte.

flamme...is that like...uber-flame?

And since when do you think the devs are actually going to give Arolte lvl 12 ANYTHING.
Jun 05, 2004 Archon link
Yes, alienb. I've been studying Tertior's langauge form for a while, and come to the conclusion that the more consonants in the word, the more important he wishes the word to sound.

In this case, to verbalize the above theory;
"flame" = plain regular "flame"
"flamme" = about 15.7% more importance than "flame"
"flammme" = uberized version of the original
"flammmme" = extremely flamy
.. and so on.

I never asked for level 12 anything. And I don't expect anyone else to have an artificial boost in experience either. I just said that since it's a TEST that it shouldn't matter whether there'd be a reset with the release of the new universe. If anything it'll be a hinderance in the testing process. Please check the below post for a detailed explanation:

I think you might have suggested at some point (i heard someone ask this of a dev) that the devs bump everyone to 12/12/12/12, which would turn Vendetta back to what it was before we had a reputation and experience threshold system implemented. Dumb idea imo.
Jun 05, 2004 Katarn link
Yes that is pointless, since as beta testers we should test the license system.

flamme is the french version of flame.

He will probably be not that versed in posting in english then some of our other fellow testers.

cheers

There should be a reset, and i'm pretty sure there will be. Arolte griefing n00bs that dont stand a chance is just one reason..

AlienB, just a reminder...

You've blamed just about every single person (including your former clan mates) of being a hypocrite, griefer, or whatever. Just drop it and grow up. With all of the flamebait posts that have been deleted can't you take a hint already?

Anyway, even though the devs have probably already made their decision I'd like to hear some logical reasons behind why we should have a full reset. It's all been mostly about personal requests such and such a player has too much power, someone screwing up and wanting a fresh start, or someone complaining about exploiting.

Yet most of those same people have been around long enough to know that Vendetta Test hasn't been 100% fair since it has been available to the public. There's a reason why Vendetta Test is called a test. Why anyone would want another full reset for a game that is about to be released in final form within weeks, if not a month or two, is beyond me.

Just curious...

"flamme...is that like...uber-flame?"

-No, you're all wrong. Flamme is like a flame, only more French.
Jun 05, 2004 AlienB link
Heh. The anti-flaming flame. Douse the fire with petrol, 'rolte.

Arolte, it's at the point where I don't even read your posts any more, as they're just full of "I want to start something"

More than plenty of your posts have been deleted, and you've been the cause of many locked topics as well.

This whole thread is a complaint to your conduct....but whatever.

<ontopic> There really should be a reset for the final release, as it just wouldnt be fair to those who are actually just starting out and just paid to subscribe to the game, and these testers that have gotten a free ride all this time have all sorts of advantages over new players. Now, if we could count on 100% of the tester population to be productive, and helpful to teach new players how to play the game, and not abuse these advantages, that'd be great....But, I really don't think everyone would do that.

As for the "I really don't want to make all those thousands of hours botting be for nothing" argument, nobody really made anyone bot for thousands of hours. If you did, I really feel sorry for you, and invite you to get a library card. Sure the system needs testing, but it's the _system_ we're testing, not the tri-gauss valk.

As for the "Testers should have a reward for all their 'hard work'" argument, We've already got months, (and in some cases, years) of advance knowledge on the most intimate workings of the game and it's system. We're all MUCH more skilled than ANYONE will be for months when the game goes gold. Other than that, what more can you want, other than being able to say, "I helped make this game"

It'd be nice if Incarnate could just step in, say that we'll have a reset, or not, so we can get over this bickering.
