Hmmmmm, PvP may just be back then huh?®

Sep 18, 2004 yodaofborg link
Noticed (while being chased by a scummi itani SF) that not only can they now warp after you (more bots need warp huh?) but that when i made it back to Serco Space, and the SF warped out, I got informed that my current target had warped to Deneb.... Thinking this was a Kool™ sign of PvP, i then got another player to attempt to follow me - he did ;) great, allway across odia, even through a storm, obviously its still too easy to get away (in and out of empty space) but on a full day, hmmmmmm....

[Edit] Maybe it should be extended to radar range, or previous locked target.. it was 7:38 where I was.... hehe

I'm still trying to understand what you just wrote.

lol

Alienb is right, once I get my little siblings to decipher what he just said, then I'll comment. This might take a few hours..

Cheers.

I think he's talking about the feature where if you're close enough you'll find out where the target went. This has been around for a while now. It doesn't really solve the PvP issue since the range is very limited and the distance which sectors are covered are pretty damned vast.

Id just woke up, and after reading it back, i also agree with alienb ;)

I understood what he was saying but I'm a teacher and have work experience. :)

He was just over-excited and typing real fast....

Sorry Sarahanne, I know I type like an AOLer, but I am too used to spell checkers and such, and at 900+ you will be too hmmmm??....

This has been their since the new universe was created or at least very soon there after.

Yes it makes chases possible... but with all vets flying 200m/s indefinitely, and instant jumping out of empty sectors there's still no way for vets to successfully catch each other (they can just slaughter newbs, which is bad).

*AgY nods.

I might repeat but....

PvP needs to be fixed befor the stress test starts.

Yes, please please please devs... consider a brief warp countdown (3-5 seconds would do it) and/or going back to the old energy consumptions.

err...the current setup hasn't really even been tested. There's very little PvP happening recently.

Just ad an interruptor device that blocks in-system jumps within 1000m (Icarus suggested this already if I remember correctly). It takes up one slot (small or large). That will give a slight boost to the defending party, which is only fair (pirating should be hard).

When the game goes into stress testing, there will be a ton of PvP soon. Where player killers, pirates, good guys escorts non-pvpers/noobs and haulers, etc comes into mind.

I can see it in the future where every pirates, pkers flying valks killing anything thats not in their guilds while the "good guys" search for the killers. Along with a fleet of one pro-nation guild invades NT space killing anyone thats an NT and have a good rep with them. And then every one groups up to hunt down the invaders...

Thats just an example. My predictions are 100% wrong.

But like when I was in Jumpgate, pro-factional squads invade eachother's space(only limited to killing anyone with cross sword tags for no penalties, and flipping their beacons to a different color) and there would be an endless battle between one faction station to another.
