3rd Person View Adjustment?

Oct 06, 2004 Shivlor link
I beta tested both E&B and EVE, I really liked the 3rd person view in EVE, not a big 1st person fan. Problem is, I cant figure out how to adjust the 3rd person, or even if you can, the ship takes up half the screen and im blinded by engines.

Is this possible at all? I tried searching the forums, but it isnt the greatest search engine it seems.

Just the ability to zoom in or out from 3rd person would be nice, with about a 10 degree pitch, so im not looking directly into my engines. Any help would be appreciated, I messed with it for a while last night and just couldnt get it, so played in 1st person. Enjoy the game so far, even tho money comes WAY faster than xp/licenses.

Thanks!

There currently is no way to adjust the 3rd person canera. That'll be an easy thing to add though. However, the 3rd person mode isn't actively used by anyone here so it doesn't work properly with mouselook mode.

I think I'd have to chime in here, and say I'd also like the third person view.. its just more natural for me personally..

I was not aware that 3rd person was available.

Guess I need to look through the available docs to find out how to switch to it

or

someone could reply and tell us all what is the key sequence.

I'll chime in with a "me too". A functional 3rd person view would be useful.

3rd person is hard to use in mouselook mode but it actually works pretty well with a joystick.

I'd love it if I could carry out certain functions in it.

Like rolling and turning. :D

I too was looking for a 3rd person view. I have no trpuble piloting in 1st person, but I wanna see how my ship looks like flying around and shooting, etc.
