Regarding the monthly fee

Mar 01, 2005 SideSwipe link
I took a look around the site and the forum, didn't see anything about this - might be a good idea to add it to the FAQ perhaps?

Is it possible to not subscribe on a permanent basis, but rather say a month when there's some time over Easter, 2 months over summer holidays, etc? Between classes and work, I really may not have time to play all the time, and somehow I can't really pay for something in a month I know I won't use with a good mind.

ie. If I only paid to play say during March or April, and then I left it off for May and June, and then paid again for July and August, will I have to pay anything extra, or will I lose my character?

On a related note, would I lose my character from the trial period I'm on now if I don't subscribe for the service right after the trial expires? How long does a character or account need to be inactive before it is deleted?

iirc, your account is stored on the server, and all you need to do is pay for the months you can play, and cancel your payment option (if credit card) when you cant, but your account will still remain *stored* on the server for 6 months (maybe longer, maybe all you need to do is ask... the dev team here are second to none, and do understand) in which time you can still access the forums, ect, ect, you just cannot get in game, so any progress you make will be saved. yes, I agree, it does need adding to the faq/wiki =D

Dont cancel your account (if thats possible) just your payment option if credit card... and if your not sure how to cancel with a cc email billing@guildsoftware.com cos i have no clue =D

I think inactive accounts get deleted after six months, but I'm really not too sure. Two months should be just fine though.

Edit: khdsajh yoda beat me to it. :/

The six month deletion thing was removed.

Does that mean they last longer? Or less time?

It means I'm not deleting any inactive accounts yet, as we haven't decided on the official policy. Since we've only been live for four months (has it been that long already? man.) there hasn't been any need.
