DarkNight's logo beats Doukutsu by about a parsec. Seriously, Doukutsu's looks more like a logo for a MLS team than for a pirate organization.
Oh, and before I forget. 75% of the time I see a CLM member, I'm attacked; 85% of the times I see a SCAR member, I'm attacked; 33% of the time I see a SKV member, I'm attacked. Yet every time I encounter a new SYN member they say "hi" and ignore me completely afterwards. Like, What the Hey?

Oh ye who pass judgement too quickly - the crow logo is just concept... not anywhere near final. I made it in about 30 seconds.

Technically DK's piece of...um...artwork.. was a POSTER, not a logo. BTW a LOGO should not be a photo, technically. You want your target audience to recognize a shape or style first, before their brain tries to recognize patterns in (decode) a full color photo.
In a wide, sweeping generalization kind of way, the more simple a logo is, the more memorable it is.

Hey, at least its a step in the right direction. We now have 4 or 5 active members who actually pirate. Before Kteln came along, Syn had what? One pirate and a roid humper?

You know, I was pretty harsh on the new syndicate, and even dropped out, so I'd like to apologize.
I'm sorry you took what was a fairly cool, if a little dead, guild for more than two years and turned it into a pathetic laughingstock. I'm sorry that when Martin says "cor was one of the original pirate guilds" he no longer has to argue that "it's not alpha anymore." I'm sorry you and your ass-licking buddies have deluded themselves into thinking that this is a good thing you've done. I'm sorry I thought "hey, it's the guy that started it in the first place, how bad could it be?" when your half-decomposed corpse floated to the surface of the puddle of shit you've spent the last two years in.
I'm really, really, really sorry.
Anyway, I'd also like to thank some people.
First of, kamikaze superbus. Not the "I enjoy taking myself and others too seriously" piece of rotting metal we have today, but the easy-going and cool version of him I have constructed in my fantasies. What you did was a Good Thing, I just wish you hadn't come back to fuck it up.
Next, Scubasteve. Thanks for resurrecting the syndicate, in a more or less cool form, no less than three times.
Let's not forget 0. Thanks for bringing some much-needed firepower and your complete lack of morals. I'm sorry you can't log in to get your character out of the syndicate, but hey, that's what you get for not paying >.o
Of course, Niki! General sillyness and strangely present fighting capabilities. Thanks!

Ahhhhh... poor little thread. I hope it doesn't get locked. As far as people critical of the Syndicate guild - I'm not a person who doesn't like honest criticism... but in order for me to listen to any criticism whatsoever, it has to contain an argument with more in it than flames and rediculously uncontrolled outbursts of emotion with no basis whatsoever.
--Examples - I can't even tell what genka is mad about, even less specific reasons why he thinks the current Syndicate guild is "less cool." Another: Jex Kerome constantly attacking some concept art that I quickly made. I can understand that he has some kind of engrained deep hatred of MLS team logos and/or concept art, but it IS concept art. You're not supposed to scrap concept art. It is used to create other spin-off ideas.
Now, I can understand comments such as:

Oh, by the way... Gavan is right - Syn is far from dead, lol. To the contrary, its just beginning. Its a TON more active and effective than it used to be, and it is only going to become moreso. Don't assume that you know what we're all about. Hate us, sure.... but if you're going to try to take your anger out on us, fight us in the game, and don't talk crap you can't back up in the forums.
On a positive note, everybody just loosen up. Its a freakin' game, and its a freakin' guild. Don't let stupid little things piss you off too much, or you'll have an massive anneurism or your head will explode or something crazy like that.

Seriously, though, the comment of SYN not pirating is from this week, not some time ago, and the member in question was fighting in B-8 against heavy-hitters, so I don't think he was a noob.
As for the logo, change the concept. Make it darker and more menacing.
As for Genka, he's a troll and the only reaction that makes him happier than yours is the one displayed by Gavan, to wit, dropping to his level and flaming back, which only encourages him further. This also applies to me to some extent, BTW. Easiest solution by far is to ignore anything we say you feel has no merit or purpose other than to get you mad.
Oh, and for the record, this Syn is still sucking worse than the old one. If you're going to change it, do it like, now.

I'd like to add that piracy isn't just randomly blasting everyone in sector, that's just a good way to get into a fight.
Piracy is about catching trading vessels, and seeing as yer best odds are to catch it at a wh with a heavy batt, I don't tend to move much.
And otherwise? nothing wrong with practicing PvP, you should try it sometime Jex.
