I'm glad to see this kind of action on A-Dawg's part--it does show that he cares about the image that the community associates with SCAR and how it impacts his guild.
In other news [TGFT] is changing their name to the Tobago Game Fishing Tournament, merely for the benefit of using http://www.tgft.com as their official website.
Uh. . . oh. Hi Gaird! What's with the baseball bat...?
OK, please disregard that. There will be no name change to [TGFT].

I'd like to fish in Tobago. Ah, the Caribbean... now would be the perfect time to go. Fish all day, watch NCAA's all night... Ya Mon.
Of course, one would have to drink Rum and not Tequila... no big loss.
Anyway, speaking out of character, [SCAR] is a fine guild with plenty of fun peeps in it. The reason for their "bad" rep? My theory:
A bunch of new serco players joined [SCAR] and were thrust into high-level combat rather quickly with the other combat vets, and died a lot. They turned to ganking with swarm rags since that was the most effective means of killing at their disposal.
Now I think they are better about the ganking & swarming, most definitely. In fact, it's rather fun multi-ing against A-Dawg, Cunjo, BUNNY, Shedu, Lecter, Mecha and others, since they all fly different ships and use different styles. I can't imagine the hilarity of [SCAR] guild chat.
I salute them for continuing to fight the good fight! When I get my gamepad fixed (or I re-train myself for mouse & kybd flying), I shall have at thee again in Sedina, [SCAR].
And I'm totally into another incursion-event thingy like Cunjo organized last time. Should be awesome if the capships actually WORK, can't wait. If Cunjo's busy in RL, how about A-Dawg organizes this?
/me pokes A-Dawg...

Even though we'd get our clocks cleaned. The other day, I was envisioning an all out, every member [SCAR] vs. [TGFT] war. Not that we're at war per se, or that TGFT are fighters, but just to get two of the largest guilds together in one place duking it out.
I'd like to see a CLM v SCAR war, with no missiles or rockets allowed. heh
Could be a great event, what do other scar/clm think?

Great idea, yoda. Breazle's my target! ;)

lol whoa, didn't think we'd get THIS MUCH positive feedback, thanks, As mentioned earlier, I do care about the community and only want to see it grow and prosper, and I *hope* the folks on council feel the same way.

Bingo, this has been my theory as well. I've encouraged our new members for awhile to get some help from Mecha, BUNNY, etc... anybody who can grasp how to fly ships and generally refrains from spamming. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I'm still personally trying to deal with a new way to adress the spammers, since (as you all know) it frankly pisses everybody off.
Right now, with VO's miniscule playerbase there's not much of a line between advanced pvp'er and complete newbie. Some of the older playing members of SCAR have used duels and/or alts to train the new recruits, it tends to help somewhat and gives them an introductory to live-fire scenerios. It'd be neat idea to have a mission where it takes you on an introduction to pvp with a player from another nation, instead of being thrown in with players ranging from 6 months to 3 years experience in pk'ing you gradually slide in and learn the hang, and find/make yourself a style first.
As for ganking I say to new recruits every once and a awhile that, while there is a war going on, if two players are mixing it up, unless they ask for help, and especially if they say stay out. Stay out; theres nothing more annoying than fighting someone one on one when another person, or two persons jump in and attack. Then again, I say to them if they see one of SCAR being ganked, don't be afraid to help, it'll only even up the odds, if not make for a quick distraction for a moment.
And also to answer Leber's question, I am planning a new invasion event or two, it may take awhile, I've been increasingly busy in RL as well like Cunjo. :D

Interesting parallel...
While I had previously witnessed (and most certainly heard about) the "poor, honorless behaviour" of some SCAR members, I must say that those SCAR members who I've dueled with recently have been nothing short of some of the most polite and honorable pilots I've ever seen.
(If I dueled you in Sedina in the last month, you know exactly who you are.)
It will take a while to restore SCAR's reputation to something more universally accepted. I think we all recognize that.
I personally will try my best to help that process, so feel free to yell at me if I'm not ^^;

You're kinda right, A-Dawg.
I had other problem. After some... accidents in Sedina, we did some BP, i got an SCP and returned there.
I had some successes, but people kept telling me that prom isn't good learning ship for newbs...
I didn't listen, but fortunately Bojan (thanks friend!) convinced me to return to SVG.
But i suppose I didn't really start spamming because I met BG... and I realized it's honorless... maybe...

Ok, about the ganking I've heard about: I've NEVER experienced it first hand, I think whoever claims that was either asking for it or got shot in the back because they were already ganking. CLM is a LOT worse about ganking, and so is BDC.
About the swarms: It may just be that I'm good at seeking out the more honorable members, but I've never fought swarms coming out of a SCAR ship. But I cannot say the same about CLM or BDC....
About the lack of honor: SCAR pilots have always been available to help in the past month to help me with a BDC or CLM blockade, where I was outnumbered and ganked up to 4-1. I have never been up against those odds when fighting SCAR pilots.
Anyone else noticing a pattern here? You peeps are badmouthing the wrong people. Also, those of you who know me ingame know that I'm not just ignorant because of lack of play time, I can be found in Sedina B-8, and Latos H-2, O-12 fighting for hours at a time.

What's wrong with ganking? It's a skill you know, not easy to learn. And yes, I am being serious.
(Also here is a secret : "swarm rags are like low hanging fruit", I quoth Shape)

True I don't see how CLM can talk. So there is no merit behind yoda's words or any justification. I recall me and two other people slaughtering the 6 or 7 clm members(upn included) about a month ago in latos o-12 so why would you want to organize a war against me and SCAR? I already kill and war with pirates so go ahead and war with me personally I can't talk for the rest of the guild however.
From the Desk of Seta Ralel
While I most enthusiastically applaud A-Dawg for his restructuring efforts, there has been limited formal communications to our Council to comment on. So, in an effort to gather more information and initiate said discussions, I offer my personal observations.
[SCAR] is currently on the official [VPR] KOS list as a guild, with the reservation to be delt with according to the infractions. This past decision was made mainly due to the actions of a few. We [VPR] do not involve ourselves with the Itani/Serco war, so we focus on tradelane violations, personal attacks upon peaceful traders/miners, and personal protection. Direct assaults witnessed and/or suffered by our members of varying degree were - as mentioned earlier - perpetrated by a few members only... and these members were/are also singled out on a separate character-specific KOS list.
Here is where a contridiction arises. If [SCAR] as a whole is making an attempt to restructure, then the actions of a few *may* hamper that effort. While the work of the whole is genuine and forthcoming, actions taken on the few by nature of the separate warrants issued (as described above - the individual versus group warrants) may cause the collective to respond negatively. Guild protection is paramount to [VPR], and we would expect it to be the same for [SCAR].
Finally, reputations are difficult to modify once ingrained - but not impossible. In this regard, actions do in fact speak volumes... and time aides in the process.
In closing, I am sure the Commander and Lieutenants of [VPR] would welcome either direct communications (comm channels at http://www.viperguild.com/wiki/index.php?title=Guild_Roster ), or general communications through forum discussion (viperguild.com).
Respectfully,

Hey hey, The Beepers are putting on airs!
Big talk for a mine dropping runner mecha, sure, UPN was stupid for flying itno them, but if running away and dropping mines is your only comeback, fine with me, ninny.
Oh, and for the record, 3 days ago it seems a SCAR member "demanded" money from a guy who was still in his 8 hours initial space flight period, and when quizzed about this by CLM members that came to his aid, he said, and I quote (althout I wont name names on the forum) LOL I was bored.
Maybe you should try enforce this shite more, and talk less.
Cos thats mainly all ye do.

Oh oh oh! Let me add fuel to the fire!
I was shot by [SCAR]***** ****** while chatting in B8 yesterday!
Disclaimer : Since I was bored to death, I was actually happy [SCAR]***** ****** shot at me, since I can play shooty-shoot. Even better, I can shoot him/her/it back now without needing an excuse! W00t! Though, polite person that I am, I asked mecha first if I can shoot him/her/it and mecha was gracious to say go ahead.

Christ, all this... and all I wanted to know was why the guild had a weird new name =P
lol, Lecter... :)~
Well if I remember right the whole VPR SCAR love hate thing was started by a little ol Russian and a red shape that got board in B-8 one day.
As for the whole spammer ganker thing, again if I remember right they where at the time just doing unto others as was done to them. (Any one remember the spamer ganker guild of the day back then? No? Remember they had two little ol letters I and A.)
Really guys all this stuff is water under the bridge. Let them have their happy little guild and shoot them if you need to.
A name change means about as much as calling some one a spammer, in the end every thing will still be the same regardless of what is said here.
/me gets back to digging holes for DSL cables to his house so he can get back in-game
