New Contest Idea - "Speed-Slaughter"
Okay, How about this:
This contest will be centered around Itani & Serco, and use the Border Patrol Mission as its basis. Basically it will be a contest to see who can kill 30 BP bots the fastest.
A team of two players takes the mission in a group. One player heads to Deneb C-10. The other player takes the BP mission. The "on-station" player can start killing bots immediately, but the player who took the mission must wait 1 minute before his/her first kill of an enemy bot.
Fastest time wins. If the travel time becomes a factor, perhaps we just limit the contest to be between same-nation teams.
Any ship, any loadout. BUT:
You die, you're out.
No reloads.
Obviously the time must be witnessed by some "neutral" third party and logs must be kept to prove the time.
Anyway, 1ight and I killed 30 bots in 6:18, our best time so far just screwing around. That's a dead bot every 12.6 seconds. Who can beat that?
(Should this be a single-person event only? Should it be expanded to teams of more than 2? Anyone see any problems with how this will work?)

A team of more people would make it more popular....I'm thinking teams of 8, or teams of 6 ect.
Might make it take too long, tho, zamzx...

and 2 people isn't enough... with that, you don't get enough bots spawning for real skill to become a factor - just where they spawn and how fast they come to you...

Well, 3 or 4 people max, I think, otherwise things would take 30+ minutes, and with the average attention span around here...

Leebs, I could kill 60 of those things in 30 minutes ALONE if there were 4 people in the sector, so I don't think that would be a problem.
Yeah, but if you worked together I bet you could kill 60 of 'em in like 12-15 minutes, right? The whole point of the group mission would be to work TOGETHER.
